  1. 2 backwards K's for Julien today....
  2. Welcome to the bigs, Mr. Kristofak
  3. In his career, not just as a closer, Duran has worked more than 1 inning 22 times, covering 41 innings. he has an ERA of 1.10 over those appearances with 54 K's. Thanks to the "Ghost Runner" rule, 5 of the 10 runs he's allowed in multiple inning appearances have been unearned. Not arguing for him to be a starter, just putting numbers out there.
  4. https://www.mlb.com/news/ted-williams-502-foot-fenway-home-run-investigation What a bunch of self-absorbed, ego-maniacs today's ball players are. "Mine went further", "No way he hit one up there" and other derogatory comments directed towards a HOFer and probably the greatest hitter ever. Today's technology suggests the distance was even further than ever thought. Show some respect.
  5. The games against the Dodgers started at 6:40, 6:40 and 12:15 CDT. The upcoming Mariners series has 3 games starting at 6:40 and 1 at 12:10. The D'backs and A's series at Target Field have similar start times, one game does move back to 7:10 though, but there's a FloRida concert after. Not seeing where you're getting this idea.
  6. Ober since his opening start implosion: 4 GS, 2-0, 1.48 ERA, 24/6 K/BB, 24.1 IP
  7. 106.4 MPH exit velo., 397' hit distance and .930 xBA makes us GameDay viewers forget about the actual player factor sometimes, kinda like it does to the advanced metrics crowd...
  8. Down 2 mph from the 1st inning, 93.4 down to 91.4
  9. Kept it together and only gave up 1 run, nice job Ober!
  10. From completely dominating and throwing a no-no, to second and third nobody out, Ober falls off the cliff fast.
  11. Buxton last 7 games: .409/.435/.682 (1.117 OPS) 1 HR, 4 RBI.... just horrible Buxton last 15 games: .267/.277/.467 (.744 OPS).... not superstar, but above league average After a slow start to his season, Buxton has hit just fine and is playing outstanding in CF.
  12. So, if Baldelli is still manager when/if Rodriguez and Jenkins make it to the show, we can expect them to consistently sit against LHP?
  13. He also pitches, and I'm pretty sure the team and the fans didn't mind him leaving the bases loaded...
  14. Agreed, but SWR is a pitcher, not a hitter, so that is a different argument.
  15. While this is true, last years 12 play-off teams all had pitchers start at least 10 games (1/3 of the season) with an ERA of 4.50 or higher, 9 of 12 had pitchers start 10 or more games with an ERA of over 5.00 (Perez would have made it 10/12 but he snuck under with a starters ERA of 4.98). Even good MLB teams struggle to fill all 5 rotation spots with quality starters. And remember a "Quality Start" translates to a 4.50 ERA ( 6 IP, 3 ER).
  16. Possibly, though Detroit is the 2nd best staff in MLB by ERA and WHIP and best by AVG against while the ChiSox are near the bottom in MLB in those same categories.
  17. The team is hitting better as of late, a .245/.300/.417 (.717 OPS) slash line over the last 7 days, good for 7th in the AL and 13th in MLB. Compare this to an overall .205/.285/.349 (.634 OPS) season line, good for 13th in the AL and 27th overall and maybe they have started to figure things out and make adjustments.
