  1. Not usually one to complain about the umpires, but it's hard to hit when the zone expands 3"+ in every direction....
  2. The pitch shows high on Baseball Savant, and I trust that strike zone over the one MLB.com shows.
  3. He's missed calls on both sides, balls and strikes. Not saying things even out, each miss creates it's own situation, but yes, he's been bad tonight.
  4. Didn't see that coming....especially against the Yankees
  5. Not if Kepler catches it....it hit off the heel of his glove
  6. If Lewis can't play two days in a row the team should have kept him with St. Paul.
  7. Isn't that what we do on this site, pick and choose stats that fit our arguments 😉 I am in no way saying that Farmer is the answer at 2B, rather Julien is struggling as bad as Farmer is. A move had to be made and given the teams history, it wasn't going to be a DFA. Miranda, Castro and Julien are the infielders with options, two are playing well, one isn't. We'll see what happens over the next 3 weeks or so. The next decision will be what to do with Wallner if he keeps hitting. Larnach and Kirilloff both have options remaining, but both are hitting well right now. All 3 are LH and primarily play corner OF
  8. The poster originally stated Julien's last 103 PA's - this covered the time period since his last HR on 4/25. I compared Farmer's performance over the same TIME period, not PA's. Farmer is the short side of the platoon and has roughly half as many PA's as Julien over this same period.
  9. Farmer's slash line over this same period (since Julien's last HR on 4/25) is .255/.340/.383 (.723 OPS). NOT saying Farmer is the answer, but IF Julien is part of the future, he needs to figure things out now. A AAA reset may be just what he needs.
  10. Who still thinks Miranda should be sent down when Lewis comes back...
  11. Julien has 1 XBH for the entire month of May. LH platoon option - Julien has 13 hits in 70 AB's, 79 PA's. RH platoon option - Farmer has 8 hits in 32 AB's, 34 PA's This month, one half of this platoon is out-performing the other....
  12. DaShawn Keirsey to 7 day IL with calf strain.
  13. Farmer last 30 days - .250/.314/.344 (.658 OPS) 0 HR, 5 RBI, 7/2 K/BB Julien last 30 days - .186/.278/.200 (.478 OPS) 0 HR, 5 RBI, 29/9 K/BB Farmer's OPS+ the last 30 days is roughly 90, Julien's OPS+ is roughly 45. As the RH bat in the RH/LH platoon, he's doing his job.
  14. Gotta win 2 of 3 in a 3 game series and at least split the 4 game series, but, yes, a win tomorrow would be yuge....
  15. If the team is going to shade the batter to pull the ball the pitcher needs to pitch that way...
  16. Theoretically 1B, 2B & 3B - he had almost 1400 innings at 2B in the minors.
  17. Lots of weak contact against Duran (even Melendez was hit by an 88 MPH curve) - nothing made it out of the infield grass. Not to worried about him other than he had to be brought into the game and throw 15 pitches, so he and Jax are probably not available tomorrow.
  18. Correa's having a rough day at the plate....
  19. I think Julien needs a AAA break, he needs to re-set and there are several options to play second. Julien splits; Last 7 days - .077/.143/.143 (.286 OPS) 0 HR, 5/1 K/BB Last 15 days - .097/.125/.129 (.254 OPS) 0 HR, 11/1 K/BB Last 30 days - .143/.250/.157 (.407 OPS) 0 HR, 31/10 K/BB Not exactly what is expected from the lefty side of the lefty/righty platoon.
  20. In true Twins (or former Twins) fashion, Danny Coulombe allowed a HR to end the Orioles no-hit bid yesterday. To be fair, they still beat the lowly ChiSox.
