  1. Awhile ago, there were a few writers suggesting the Twins move Jhoan Duran to the rotation, and trade for an established closer. With Milwaukee willing to trade Burnes. Maybe Devin Williams would be available for the right price. How about an offer an offer of David Festa or Marco Raya along with Gabriel Gonzalez the player we just received from the Mariners. I don't know if an offer like that would interest the Brewers, but acquiring Williams as a closer and moving Duran to the rotation might be worth the try. If Duran doesn't show well as a starter, you can always move him back to the pen. That would really solidify the bullpen if that happened. Speculation on a lot of things here. But, if you could acquire a pitcher like Williams for what the FO would consider "worth it". It might be worth trying. Williams has a 7M contract for this year and a 10.5M club option with a 250,000 buy out for 2025. So, he really wouldn't affect our budget, too much. And you have him for possibly 2 years.
  2. I just hope the fans treat the team the same way the owners and front office has. Lets stay home and save our money and not go to any games. Would serve the team right and remind them what goes around comes around
  3. The way it sounds from stories all over the internet is Seattle will not trade any of its “controllable” starting pitching unless it’s a massive overpay and plan on signing FA’s to supply “bats” on their roster. So good luck trying to deal with them.
  4. I’m sure what the Twins FO thinks about any of the players and contract situations listed here is totally different than a lot of us fans take. It’s fun to state opinions and see everyone else’s Come opening day We will cheer for the team put on the field and have to accept the FO decisions GOOD or BAD Then it would have to Wallner and Julien offered. It’ll take a massive offer for Luzardo and Jeffers is what the Marlins REALLY need. I agree though that the Twins would be very hesitant to trade Jeffers.
  5. Young pitchers mature as time goes by and I think Ryan and Ober should be given that opportunity in MN. It was more López maturing as a P, by learning a new pitch. But still I think Ryan, especially has number 2 starter written all over him as he matures as a P
  6. If Miami trades Luzardo the names Lewis, Lee, and Jeffers are gonna be brought up. Not Kepler or Vázquez. They won’t even consider taking on any unnecessary salary
  7. The thing is Ryan and Ober are controlled for 4 more years and the Twins really should know what they have in them They maybe could take a monumental step forward in the next year or 2, like Pablo Lopez did in 2023. So trading either one is a crapshoot on getting something even equal to them
  8. Then it would have to Wallner and Julien offered. It’ll take a massive offer for Luzardo and Jeffers is what the Marlins REALLY need. I agree though that the Twins would be very hesitant to trade Jeffers.
  9. It might take Jeffers and Julien for the Marlins to maybe consider. They need a C bad and Julien would be a fit also Is this to much to give up for Luzardo?
  10. I know with the TV issue and the revenue stream from it, up in the air. The Twins will probably want to lower the payroll But, with Pablo Lopez going from 8.25M in 2024 to 21.75M in 2025. And, with Royce Lewis, Joe Ryan, Jhoan Duran, Bailey Ober, Griffin Jax, Trevor Larnach, and more ALL becoming Arbitration eligible in 2025. It maybe makes more sense to spend a little more on payroll in 2024. We have a defending Division champion, and the other teams in our division are NOT that strong. So why not try to build a team that can compete for a WS, when we STILL have some cost controllable players. By letting 2024 go, by lowering payroll and not adding to a fairly good team, we lose a great opportunity to build our team to COMPETE for a WS. Plus, the young players on our roster, if they keep succeeding, is going to run that payroll up fast in the coming years. So lets go for it this year, by adding some quality to our roster. Which means we probably have to stay at last years payroll level or even add a little to it.
  11. How about offering Larnach and P Headrick for Edward Cabrera. You could substitute Miranda, Kiriloff, or even Wallner in some kind of offer for Cabrera. Cabrera has a lot of upside and is controlled for 5 more seasons. The Marlins maybe value him quite high, but their losing Soler and might be looking to add some hitting.
  12. Twins are a 72-90 team. Not much going for them. Terrible bullpen will sink any team and the offense is very weak. We won’t lose any playoff games this season. Cause we won’t be playing any.
  13. Complete SLOP. Get some attention to detail. It looked like amateur baseball on opening day.The Twins are a 70-92 baseball team. Gonna be a long season. Well, at least we won’t lose a playoff game this year.
  14. I remember names like Eddie Bane, Willie Banks, Pat Mahomes, Adam Johnson. ALL, prospects who at one time were rated HIGHER than Graterol is right now. The Twins NEVER traded ANY of them hoping for eventual stardom. IT NEVER HAPPENED. So, any prospect trade is a GAMBLE, but in this case I think a worthy one.
  15. It was a big "JUMP" for the FO to take on the additional payroll by signing Donaldson. There is "no way" they take on any additional payroll, especially that much. You can't give up 5 players with 6 years of team control plus Rosario. Betts is a lot better than Rosario, but not that much. You're better off trading for pitching.
  16. IF the Twins make one trade for pitching, which would you rather have it be. Trade Rosario and whatever prospects it takes for a SP along the lines of Robbie Ray, Matthew Boyd, Chris Archer, Caleb Smith, David Price, or Chris Sale. Or trade whatever package necessary to aquire Josh Hader. Either supplementing our rotation, or going the route of making a very DEEP and talented bullpen. Which way would you go? Either way still leaves some question marks, but really enhances the team and pitching staff also. If you follow MLB, any trade like this MIGHT be possible with the right package. And the Twins undeniably have what it takes to GET it done. So are they willing?
  17. 244 big league AB's and 106 K's. A 44% strikeout rate, just what we need. I guess we need someone who strikes out alot, so Sano and Buxton don't feel so bad when they strike out. Sano strikes out 42% of the time and Buxton 35% of the time in their big league AB's.
  18. Odorizzi will be long gone from the Twins before Palacios ever plays a major league game. That's if he ever does. So the Twins win the trade until the day Palacios, MAKES the majors. Knowing the Twins luck. he will be the next coming of D Jeter and all our other SS prospects will flop.
  19. How about offering Laquon Treadwell to the NYG for Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. DRC would really give us a good corner opposite Rhodes and let Waynes have a lesser role or good depth in case of an injury. In todays NFL, you can never have enough cover guys, and DRC might be available, since he has be in disfavor with the NYG. They need receivers, also.
  20. The Twins should try and acquire Chris Archer from TB. The offer would be Rosario or Kepler, Nick Gordon and some minor league pitcher from AA or A ball. Then if they could pull that off, they should try to sign FA J D Martinez to fill the void left by Rosario/Kepler. This would give them a veteran masher to bat 4th or 5th, plus Archer, who has a pretty friendly contract. I know, either one of these transactions is just dreaming, but it would be nice if you could pull it off. Realistically, I think Alex Cobb from TB, would be a good FA target for the rotation.
  21. Will Smith and Jake McGee are probably the best 2 left-handed relief pitchers avaiable in trade. Good luck trying to acquire, either. As it would take some pretty good prospects to do so. And the Twins seem unwilling to trade ANY of their higher level prospects.
  22. Ken Giles, Justin Wilson, Carson Smith, anyone of the 3 would have been a welcome addition to the Twins bullpen. Only prospects given up and years of team control on each. This is the kind of relievers TR should be looking for. I'm sure there are more of them out there. I guess you have to make the decision to either give up some of your "valued prospects" or open the vault and sign FA. I hope they don't waste payroll on the Cott's and Thornton's of the league. If you want to go that route you're better off letting some of those "prized prospects" that you were unwilling to trade, come to the majors and pitch. Lets hope TR does something to improve the bullpen. Sign a FA or trade some prospects for some good cost controllable relievers. And hope he doesn't waste payroll on washed up trash.
  23. Trade Plouffe for Will Smith and then trade whatever minor leaguers it takes to get Ken Giles. That would give you a REAL bullpen, with RHP (Giles, Jepsen, and May) and LHP (Perkins and Smith). Transactions like this, would actually help the payroll. Probably, very impossible trades to make. But, one can dream. Smith, with 2 years of arb. Giles has 5 years of team control. One of the 2 would really help the team.
