  1. You can probably scratch the Yankees off the list. They got their RH hitting OFer. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/07/white-sox-trade-austin-slater-yankees.html
  2. Didnt you say you're an accountant? Would asking a buyer to payoff a second mortgage when buying your house lower what he's willing to pay you?
  3. Id do the opposite. I want way fewer strikeouts and way more balls in play.
  4. I agree with all of this. I dont see how the Ohl training methodology (and its not just Ohl) accomplishes anything. One 3 inning stint a week from Ohl makes things worse, not better. Lets see if we cant train Bert Blylevens instead.
  5. Because including Dobnak served no other purpose than to save ownership $2.2M. None. Zip. Zilch. Thats it. Its quite simple. Furthermore, doing so inarguably lowered the prospect return, even if only by a tiny bit. That's the totality of it. Its not a matter of opinion. There can be no reasonable disagreement with either of these two points. If you (and others) are OK with that, fine. I mean, I dont understand, but you're certainly entitled to worry about the Pohlad's finances more than their baseball team. I, on the other hand, prioritize the baseball team.
  6. Is it possible you undermined your own argument here? Detroit was desperate therefore in better position to negotiate?
  7. So your contention is, if the Mets removed Juan Soto from their 40 man, he'd no longer count against their salary? The Twins could waive Correa and his salary wouldn't count against the luxury tax? ... uh, you know, in the fantasy world where the Twins bump up against the tax...
  8. You seem to have missed the point On both statements above, BTW. What they accomplish with other deadline deals doesn't change the outcome of this one.
  9. False. Randy Dobnak counted against the Twins team salary for luxury tax purposes and would count against the Yankees as well. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/minnesota-twins/cap/_/year/2025 Whether the Yankees care might be a valid point. But Dobnak would fall under the luxury tax.
  10. Wow. This is just all kinds of wrong. Dobnak was included to save $2.2M, and doing so lowered the return. Thats pretty much indisputable. If youre ok with lessening the baseball side to increase ownership's pocketbook side, ok. But just say so. Don't pretend this is something else.
  11. See, the thing is, the 5 man rotation, 1 inning at a time reliever model IS an update. They've had 1440 innings to cover for a while now. Somehow Grandpa managed it. In fact, he managed it so well I think they might have even had to lower the mound once in response.
  12. What kind of dumb-Ass pitching development plan has a pitcher never throw more than 4 innings, or 61 pitches max, as preparation for a big league callup? What the heck is the plan here? What are you trying to accomplish? How is this pitcher supposed to be useful on a major league roster? Three innings once every other series? Come ON, ferpetesakes. Stop trying to reinvent baseball. Its stupid, and as a bonus removes any joy from watching a MLB starter work his craft.
  13. Sales of Alcalaseltzer through the roof across New England.
  14. $33 all in 3rd deck right behind home plate on tickpick for Saturday 9th. Id anticipate that going down by next Saturday. If you want to buy from the Twins, dont buy them online. Just wait till you get to the stadium and buy there. Avoid all the ridiculous fees and just pay ticket price.
  15. This, to me, has been quite obvious for at least a year now. His teams just do not play good baseball. And never seem to get better at the things he can influence.
  16. If he was ex Sox, that must mean he's currently Sox.
