  1. Using only city population (not metro area) the following are smaller than Minneapolis: St Louis (80th...smaller than St Paul) Anaheim Cleveland Tampa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_population
  2. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mlb.com/amp/news/draft-rule-changes-with-new-cba.html ?
  3. All 18 teams that miss the playoffs have a shot at #1.
  4. Three of the last five, actually. Them pesky facts again. Now I grant you, facts aren't currently treated with much respect. But still.
  5. Spot on. (And can we never ever hear the term "draft capital" again? Pretty please??)
  6. "Taj" has 67 .major league starts and to date is a dismal failure.
  7. I agree with all of this, Nick, except... The primary issue with Falvey isn't the nauseating empty corporate gibberish, avoiding anything resembling actual questions, talking only to corporate shills, or any of the other annoying aspects. The primary problem is his job performance. Other than oversee a miraculous 2019 regular season (mostly with players he had no part in acquiring or developing), what has he accomplished? And BTW...this genius somehow managed to put that 2019 team in the position of starting Randy Dobnak in a postseason game. 2020's 60 game "season" really doesn't count in my estimation. Since then they're under. 500 and have made the postseason once. They're 0 for a million in turning position players into above average every day position players, with no real reason to believe that's gonna change any time soon. They've developed Bailey Ober and a couple relievers. One simple question gets to the heart of this: Who was it that was in charge of building this team that required gutting?
  8. To sum up: Yeah! The Twins lost! Do well Joe Ryan! You know...so we can say adios in November. (Just so we're clear, Joe, when I say "do well" that doesn't mean well enough to get a W.) Draft capital! (I learned this term listening to Paul Allen!)
  9. They didn't save $350K. They're still going to pay someone (presumably the MLB minimum) to take his place on the 26 man. They saved about $100K. Not even Pohlad would give away Varland for $100K
  10. That's the thing though. Ditching France didn't save any money. Something like $100K
  11. Maybe not be such a continually terrible bullpen manager an 8 man pen isn't enough.
  12. And the roster replacement will make over $200k. They saved less than $100k.
  13. France could simply be released. There was no need to "get rid" of France by attaching him to someone. They didn't save much money, roughly $100k. He was making slightly above the MLB minimum and his replacement on the 25 man will make almost as much.
  14. There is zero chance the Twins are winning in 2027. None. Particularly after Lopez and probably Ryan are dealt this winter. I know you like to play the contrarian but this just makes you look foolish. None more foolish than the idea quality bullpen are just waiting out there any time you need one.
  15. F. F*** you Pohlad, F*** you Falvey.
  16. It sure as **** played last year.
