Very interesting analysis. Now that the opposing scouts will have read it, will Sano (and the coaches) be able to adapt to the changes in how he will be pitched?
Trying really, really, really hard not to comment on the temperature in the game's location, though as a former Texas resident ... Well, I won't go there!
I'm not sure that would be true at all. It seems like there are as many balls called strikes as the other way around. And it would be quick and transparent. The plate ump wears a watch that indicates the position of the pitch, and makes the call just like now. He could overrule in a bizarre situation.
There's been a lot of talk about hot weather in Texas this weekend. This makes sense for Minnesotans and Portlanders. But most Major League players grew up in tropical or sub-tropical places, either in the Caribbean on in the southern United States. I'd be interested to know whether these players who grew up playing in heat are as much affected as we northerners feel like we would be. Any thoughts?
That's who Odorizzi is. Can't we just get used to the fact that he will rarely if ever make it into the 7th inning? We have a rested bullpen with Monday and Tuesday off.
