    MiLB seems to be the best spot. Get the players early in their development.

    Over the off season, Sano has drastically changed his body shape. I'm guessing that it may take Sano some time to get his mechanics in order.

    Berrios needs to be 'stretched out'? Hasn't he been a starter during his entire MiLB career? If the starting staff is making short starts, it would be of benefit for Berrios to be in the Twins bullpen because: He has worked up to starter-quality innings: something like 6.5 in MiLB starts. With this staff, there will probably plenty of innings available. There are enough power arms available to get the Twins out of a tough spot and let Berrios enter the game in a new inning Berrios needs work on some of his mechanics [tipping his pitches]. He should be working with Allen and against MLB hitters. IMHO: I just don't really see anything to gain in sending Berrios down again.

    "Neither Gibson nor Santiago are known for pitching deep into games, and both Hughes (recovering from injuries) and May (transitioning from he bullpen) aren't exactly guys you want to count on to eat innings out of the gate." 4 - 5ths of the rotation. Not really awe inspiring. Aw something else is more like it :-( If the Twins need to carry more in the bullpen again, why not put Berrios there and get him reps against MLB hitters? Seems to make more sense to me than sending him down.

    One or two of Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco and Danny Salazar would have to get injured or completely flop for the Indians to miss out on the WS again.

    I confess I jumped on Pressly there a little. He was just one of many bullpen guys that got overused because of a non-performing starting staff. Like the rest of the bullpen, limited use will make things better. Just like the starters! Ooop Ack !!

    Gut feelings: Santiago, Gibson, Pressly and Kintzler are space fillers until something better comes along. Actually, I'd say that about a majority of the starters for sure. Don't care if Gibson was "Twins Pitcher of the Year". Slight praise, considering the Twins starters. Escobar: Personally, I wouldn't replace him with a guy that has minimal experience at shortstop like Polanco. I don't expect Escobar to have a high trade value, unless some other team, in the pennant race, is unluck, their starter is injured and they have no real replacement. I like Polanco a lot, but believe 2nd is by far his best position. I think we'll see a Dozier trade before or around the All-star break.

    It's kind of a time honored tradition to bring in veterans like these 4 to fill out a roster. Over the past few years, the Twins have been bringing them in as starters. I still have some questions about Kepler, Rosario, Polanco and any of the young SP's and RP's [and to a lesser extent Buxton and Sano], so signing young veterans, as backups now makes a lot more sense. I'd prefer seeing job descriptions like "contact hitter/great OBP/OPS guy" or "late-career renaissance, with uncanny ability to get hitters out", but this is still the Twins. And their record of the the past few years doesn't exactly draw the best of the rest....

    Gimenez seems like the kind of guy you're team is either: A rebuilding team that's a long ways off A contending team that still needs a backup catcher, but want to save a little in payrollGarver is already 26. Need to push him. Plus: Castro is a left-handed hitter and hits lefties poorly. Garver is a righty hitter. Better combo. Really wish Murphy had turned out to be a better hitter....

    I like Park a lot more than Vargas in the field. And I think he'll hit better than him, too. Just a hunch....

    I would suggest that, with new management, there will be less concern/commitment to veteran pitchers and more looking towards the future. I would also suggest that with Flavey and Levine at the helm, those young pitchers you mention will really have to prove themselves to be MLB quality, not just MiLB warriors.

    "There is a dearth of 1B/DH types" Is it just me or isn't this a good thing? I think we need to get beyond these one dimensional players and use this roster spot for more athletic players that can contribute more on the field. There just ain't a lot of "Big Papi's" around.

    In a word: Yes. At 19 yrs old, I'm curious: are we believing this "Best Player on the Plant" stuff.     I'm a 'wait and see' on Gonsalves. A great changeup can make a bunch of MiLBer's look bad. MLB, probably not so much. Better fastball and a sharp breaking pitch [slider, hard curve] would make a big different. AFL has never meant that much to me...

    Found this info on the Internet: What percentage of minor league baseball players will ever reach the majors? --High school senior players who go on to play NCAA men`s baseball: Less than three in 50, or 5.6 percent -- NCAA senior players drafted by a Major League Baseball (MLB) team: Less than eleven in 100, or 10.5 percent. -- High school senior players eventually drafted by an MLB team: About one in 200, or 0.5 percent. -- Drafted baseball players almost always go to a minor league team. These teams abound; there are over 150 of them, compared to 30 in the majors. The big leagues have 750 players, yet the 2004 draft alone took 1,500. Hence some estimate that only one in 33 minor leaguers ever makes it to the pros. If that's correct, the chance of a high school player making the big leagues is one in 6,600, or 0.015 percent. That's roughly the chance of a thief guessing your PIN number on the first try. So… we’re looking at a very minute chance — 0.015%. Just putting a little perspective on things....

    I think: Molitor doesn't have anything to apologize for. He's a good soldier. Falvey and Levine will be more active in who and where MiLB manager's lineups will look like. Polanco will be just another story-line in the Twins overall development and changes.

    Chris Gimenez as the backup C; because he hits lefties well and Castro does not. Worst case scenario: Garver gets the call if Gimenez fails. Vargas is too one-dimensional for my tastes. Grossman way too slow. Polanco's lack of experience at SS seems like a mistake as a starter. Make him a bench player, filling in for Dozier on infrequent days off and for Escobar, when he's filling in for Sano. P.S. I still really like Polanco's potential at 2B. LIKE the idea of Ehire Adrianza as #25. IDK: am I the only one with questions about Kepler? Gotta pair someone up with Kintzler in the closer role. I liked Rogers last season. I'll still harp on "Berrios in the bullpen".

    IDK. I don't think I'm all that willing to jump ship on "Jay as a Starter" this early. Let's see what happens with the change-up. That could take a load off his arm.
