  1. Well, I guess it depends on who's version you read. But I do believe Hunter has been helpful. I seem to remember reading about this last year. In this article, Hunter's name doesn't come up. http://www.1500espn.com/twins-2/2016/06/new-approach-why-byron-buxton-is-visualizing-hits-to-the-second-baseman/ I'm not going to get picky on stats right now. Just let him hit.
  2. I think many will be pleased: Brian Dozier is batting 5th! Grossman hitting 2nd. Hmmmmm....... http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2016_06_07_miamlb_minmlb_1&partnerId=LR_preview#game=2016_06_07_miamlb_minmlb_1,game_state=Pregame
  3. Ah, I was following this Forum for awhile. Then someone brought up ficus trees.
  4. No, that is not even close to an "accurate analogy". Dozier's job is physical in nature: athletic, eye/hand coordination, etc. Comparing that to an office worker isn't really accurate.
  5. I would add that, in terms of being a MLB player, if you don't / can't do something at age 29, I have to wonder how you got there in the first place.
  6. Interesting ranking system. I agree with others on positions for Nunez: left side of the infield are his best spots, i.e. more instinctive. From what I've seen, he has some footwork issues at 2nd. Take what you got and run with it!
  7. I guess there is a little Eduardo Nunez in all of us. Darn it, let's all stand up. Amen!! I like everything about Nunez. Ok, the defense could be better But he's one of the reason's I keep watch the Twins. I like the way he's hitting this year, the energy he plays with and, yes, some of the comical plays he makes. Question: Is it a fair to compare BABIP from his previous years as a sub to this year as a full-time starter? Consistent repetitions can explain what we're seeing this year. I just don't follow BABIP enough to judge.
  8. Sorry Mike. I was referring to LA covering the cost of cutting Crawford.
  9. Honestly, the only thing he's missing is walks. But right now, he's to busy hitting the damn ball
  10. Dodgers payroll: $245.5 M Team value: $2.5 B No worries
  11. Man, can't believe I'm still reading this 'Buxton is a slow starter' stuff. In these last 6 games, Buxton has a .435 BA .417 OBP .652 SLG 1.069 OPS The days of excuses are over. Buxton's really looking like he's here to stay. Seriously, where would anyone play Vargas? Rosario? I don't know all the details of what he did, but he obviously did plenty to piss off Molitor. And I didn't really think that possible.
  12. "Hey Skip, I'm gonna bunt now. OK?". Problem, problem solved Nunez's choice seemed odd. I'd like to hear what he was seeing.
  13. Trading Plouffe and his $7 mil contract...... Padres traded James Shields to White Sox yesterday and sent along $29mil in cash. Yeah, it can be done
  14. I agree with you on Sano playing third. Earlier this year, Sano ran in on a slow roller and made a one-legged throw to 1st. If Sano's legs are do dainty, I would think that play would be a real hammy shredder. 1st/DH would seen like better alternatives. Mauer's contract is good through 2018, Park has an option year in 2020. And I don't have a problem trading Plouffe, either. Or practically anyone else. I think if Sano is comfortable at 3rd, OK. He's not going to be a great defensive guy. Offensively, big potential.
  15. Well, then I have to wonder why you guy's even here?
  16. 35 pitches this inning. Wow, that's quite a leash.
  17. Just though of who Jepsen reminds me of: Don Stanhouse of the Orioles. Earl Weaver used to call him the "Fullpack", referring to the number of cigarettes consumed while watching him pitch.
  18. Wow, really had to reach for that one...
  19. C'mon, Joe. Cedeno isn't just a bad pitcher, he WANTS to be hit!
  20. Nunez, yet again! Unbelievable!
  21. I probably would have Centeno pinch hit
  22. Wow, nice play! Suzuki had to because Pressly was in NO position to get it. His delivery is a puzzler...
  23. Will he be passing Polanco along the way?
