  1. Leaving a lot of opportunities out there.
  2. Dozier's lucky he didn't get busted for interference and thus, wiping Buxton off the bases too.
  3. Random jersey sightings on the Orioles broadcast -- people sitting side-by-side, one wearing Span, the other wearing Cuddyer.
  4. Along the same lines of the pranks mentioned earlier, baseball teams have traditionally had a prank where they send a clubhouse boy or new bat boy to the bullpen to get the key to the batter's box. Stories I've heard about this happening never cease to be funny.
  5. I'll never understand why when your defense is in a shift on a lefty that you work the outside portion of the plate. Great piece of hitting by Vargas.
  6. Guess Al made a wrong turn at Albuquerque tonite.
  7. While we wait, what do we think of Torii's debut in the booth? A bit of a homer but I kinda dig it.
  8. I just had a stressful night watching my hockey team win. Can my baseball team not make it too stressful here in extras?
  9. This team LOVES to leave the bases loaded.
  10. In this case, I think it was time to pull him. After he threw the 3-0 pitch for a strike to the last batter, he kinda shook his right arm. You don't want to leave a guy in there to possibly give up a BS hit that might dirty a great start. Keep his confidence high!
  11. Popping on here to say that I don't care if he's at 96 pitches, Berrios better be out there for the 8th. He isn't losing any velocity and doesn't look fatigued. Don't leave this for the bullpen. Unless we can hang a 4 spot or something in this inning.
  12. Analytics weren't that prevalent in 1995 when Hawkins came up. So how the heck did they come up with that pie graph illustrating his percentages over 10,000 career pitches? Who got stuck with that job?
  13. If you're gonna elevate a fastball to the 9th place hitter with 2 strikes you better damn well make sure that he can't do anything but foul it off. That pitch allowed Wolters to get distance on the hit rather than keeping it low and make him beat it into the ground. And now look where this inning has gone.
  14. So they'd fit right in with this thread of funny people.
  15. Someone needs to tell that ball kid down the RF line that it ain't his job to try to catch a popup. He looked like he wanted to make that play on the Grossman foul ball and Desmond was about to run him over if he could have gotten there.
  16. OK, that was a pretty sick play by Arenado that he made look routine. And hit the 1B in the chest with the throw.
  17. Hughes isn't missing too many bats tonite. Not a good sign.
  18. I know it's his first time doing TV but wow, he looks like a statue in the booth and he sounds very dull with his analysis.
  19. I'm sorry, but Molitor has to get himself thrown out by arguing that pathetic strike 3 to Mauer. There's no way in hell that a slider that is CAUGHT on the outer edge of the plate ever had a CHANCE of being in the zone. That's a horses--- call as we like to say and Iassogna should freakin know better given how long he's been an umpire.
  20. Yeah, I just liked my Grade I Hazmat situation comment about it.
  21. That was me last night. I hate that I was right.
  22. Oh, I'm very greedy. But I also know that Tepesch has the potential for a Grade I Hazmat situation tomorrow.
  23. Nice of Barnes to elevate that pitch to give Joe the launching pad he needed to get it out with that wind swirling around. Makes up for another crappy outing by Kintzler. And with Tepesch going tomorrow, they needed to get this win to ensure they have a chance at a 2-out-of-3 come Sunday.
