    Yeah trading Varland was a great savings of dollars or even Jax or Duran. The PBO's and GM's all have to work with the resources given them. And Falvey has done a poor job of this, just look at the record. Yet Milwaukee is just the latest example with a below league average payroll have the second best record in baseball. And guess the same people advising and working for Falvey including his top lieutenant are still here. What do you think will change.

    Yeah you want to replace someone who has been hitting .258 with a .763 OPS since early June, just what this offense needs. I get you don't believe in Lewis but he has been producing at the plate. The last three late inning wins, he has contributed either with the game winning hit or getting on base. A better idea would be to stop moving him around and let him get comfortable at 1B.

    I am not assuming this is a ten day stint for Buxton, considering he has been dealing with it before the all star break. And if he is holding his own, you can find AB's for him, every other team does it, there is no reason you can't for him. After this Royals series we need a shot in the arm, why not try it and see if you can get that from Jenkins.

    True but the original comment was basically saying the starting pitching was not that good.

    If you are talking about the Lewis hit on Tuesday night, that ball hit high enough off the wall that it was not reachable by any outfielder.

    Three runs in six innings is not a bad outing if the offense would show any signs of life.

    It would be nice to have someone with a little more experience playing center field, the play he missed last night was due to lack of reps out there. And Keaschall would make a better back up than Kreidler or Clemens.

    Can we at least make the pitcher work a little bit.

    Roden is not a better option, but even if you don't agree with that, we need a center fielder.

    They can't carry three catchers after the weekend if they don't make a trade. Why are you forcing Caratini's bat into the lineup. We have a first baseman, let him play there and see if you have solved the position for a few years. We have to stop trying to fit in below average players into the lineup and get a regular lineup and play them. Having guys like Clemens or Kreidler moving around should be it, but we are putting sub optimal lineups because we are trying to force players into the lineup.

    Well Fedko didn't really get a shot, so I disagree there, what he would do with it, who knows. I don't really care about the Statcast page because Roden hasn't shown anything yet in 3 different stints in the major leagues. Yet this organization keeps giving Gray a shot who they have nothing invested in vs. someone that they have brought up through their organization and have an investment. Even giving Kriedler a shot when he was hitting .133 before the season started. And don't forget this is the organization that thought Outman was a major league player so I may question their evaluation qualities a little bit.

    I keep asking this question, but if OPS is the criteria what does the number have to be. Just for reference, Max Clark's OPS is .802 in the same league.

    Lewis has actually done pretty well over there, yes he made an error last night but he seems to have adjusted fairly well. Just think if they actually played him there every day how much that would help him. Jackson has played one game at 1B, you may be making the same comment today because there is a good chance based on his inexperience there that he doesn't make a needed play or makes an error. But hey, this is Little League, anyone can play anywhere.

    Culpepper should be the next one up. If he needs more time after being on the IL, I would give Ross a shot. It would at least improve our athleticism.

    But they didn't wait until December 2027, they called up Clark now. We should be doing the same.

    Arcia was released last week.

    Or maybe it starts the learning curve and it helps him be successful and even more so in 2027. Other teams do this, the Tigers just called up Max Clark. We have a need for a center fielder and Jenkins by most reports is close to being ready. If you want 100% certainty than wait until he is 27.

    I agree with the process, I don't agree with the staff involved in the process. They are the ones that have helped contribute to a mediocre team over the last 10 with a small dose of success. So I don't see a lot of change to a vision or a plan for this deadline anymore than we have had in the past.

    I would like to be a fly on the wall to know for sure. It does feel like he was doing less matchups when the season started but changed as the season went on. It's nothing I have data on, just an observation and maybe he changed on his perception or direction from the front office. But don't know for sure. It will be interesting to see how often he uses Gray.

    Or he is getting input from the analytics staff on the lineups. I don't know how much if any and no one does but I don't think Joe Maddon was way off the mark with his concerns on the impact of the analytic staffs.

    It was nice to get confirmation, that there are other members of the front office working on these trades at the front end. Many on this board have seemed to assume Falvey was making all these decisions on his own. So it will be the same this year, the same people communicating with other front offices on trade ideas and the only difference is Zoll will make the final call. So there really is no change to how the Twins operate just because Falvey is gone.
