    Then looks at strike 3, I am not sure what he brings to the team any more. He almost makes Larnach look graceful in the field in comparison to Roden.

    If Buxton is on the active roster, he is going to play. I would prefer to have him hitting 5th or 6th right now but there is no way he is hitting lower than that. That is the reality of major league baseball with your star player, which Buxton is despite his injury history.

    Veterans have the option to rehab or not and many unfortunately choose not to.

    They have been doing this all series, trying to ambush the pitcher, but you have to make better contact if you are going to this.

    Ober has picked up on the hold them scoreless in the first inning trend, good job.

    Gray's bat and glove keep him out of the major leagues. And Jenkins has been crushing the ball and hitting everything not just home runs, but you only want to see what you want to see.

    One is a AAAA player who considered retiring before spring training because even he knew his talent limitations vs. a #5 overall draft pick who is a potential cornerstone player. We all know you think you can win championships with fringe and AAAA type players filling the roster but that is not reality.

    Jenkins with another multi homer game, his third in the last two weeks. I know the Twins want to ride with the players that have been there all season, but Jenkins is not making it easy for them.

    How do you know Buxton is hurt? Did you see his sprint around the bases the other night, didn't look disengaged to me. Yes he has to start hitting but we are a better team with him.

    I think it is more the fans who think it will be a cakewalk in Sacramento. And with the bad juju, they need to overcome that and put their foot on the gas and not let up.

    My understanding is he didn't want to move Abreu, but if that is the reason I am not sure.

    I have to admit, I don't want ownership making decisions on personnel unless it is budget related. They typically have no baseball knowledge or how to evaluate players. I don't necessarily agree with what the Astros owner did. If he doesn't trust his baseball staff then he should probably bring in new people which is what I hope Tom P. does.

    You are saying this from your couch after the play, during the play you have a teammate telling you to throw to third, regardless of your pre pitch prep, you are probably going to where your teammate tells there is a play.

    I was a little surprised after that vetoed trade became public that they didn't trade him for anything they could get. You have to wonder if it's not having an impact on him. It's one thing to hear your name in rumors but to actually hear a trade was agreed to, I am not sure what impact that has had on him.

    Actually the front office for Houston wanted him, not sure if there were other offers after the Astros owner pulled the plug.

    The reason for the throw to third was a teammate was telling him to go to third. In the moment when that happens you are going to where a teammate tells you that you have a play.

    Teams rely on rookie relievers, they have actually moved him to a 7th inning role. He had a perfect inning against Atlanta in between the two bad outings and 5 scoreless outings before that. There is no margin of error for relievers, I think you are being a little too quick with this judgement. Let's see how he bounces back.

    There are going to be games like last night for Morris but I am not sure he is reaching his limits. The defense didn't help last night, How much different does the inning look if there is not catcher's interference and he gets Fermin out. Lee missing the throw at third as well. Yes the pitcher has to pick up his fielders at times, but that inning was a cluster and I am not sure how you can put it all on Morris.

    Thank you for the update. I am hoping that ERod is the call up on Sept 1, and gets a couple of starts and maybe be the defensive replacement for Larnach. I am not completing giving up on Walker but it does feel like it's not going to happen.

    That is the way I saw it live and I was glad Lee confirmed it. It feels like people are waiting for Culpepper to fail, I like what I have seen so far, he will have a learning curve but he seems to be settling in. One other question, how is ERod looking, the results have been there, is he shaking off the rust from being out or is there still more to work on.

    Lee postgame said he was the one to call for the throw to third and that it was a good throw, he tried to make the tag too quick. So Lee is saying the play was on him and even Shelton said it was a 50/50 call of where to go with the ball.

    Zoll should be the one leading this process, Pohlad should have nothing to do with player personnel decisions. He should only have a say if it related to the budget.

    But if Bell is the supposed leader that everyone makes him out to be, that is the exact situation he needs to produce in and he doesn't do it nearly enough.

    Maybe we need to quit relying on fringe veterans to be key contributors and not carry a third catcher that won't play. He is here for a situation that may occur once or twice a week.
