  1. Caratini's knee must be really badly injured, he is behind the plate today. Time to move Jackson off this roster and quit playing shorthanded especially when we need a CF and there is one in St. Paul.
  2. Correct, Kody and Kreidler are probably that have the ability and are comfortable doing this.
  3. Fine if you want to rearrange the defense, but keep guys at one position, they can't keep switching up game to game or even within a game on an everyday basis.
  4. If you need Kreidler in the lineup so badly, give Clemens a day off. He needs it and should be not be hitting in the #4 hole.
  5. Lewis has been doing this since he came back up two months ago. He is healthy and looks more comfortable at the plate. I get people want to see it until the end of year but the improvement is real and has been happening for more than a couple of weeks. And he's doing while playing at two new positions without a set position. At some point we do need to acknowledge that he has been one of our best hitters.
  6. Already did, that is why I have been on a rant the last few days.
  7. He actually should have been up 2 weeks ago. If you want to make excuses for Zoll, you are free to do so, I am not going to do so. It is legal to bat a LH hitter against LH pitching, just because the analytic nerds don't like it doesn't mean it can't be done.
  8. He needs to play everyday, there is always a reason not to call someone up, There are no excuses to me anymore other than Zoll is incompetent.
  9. They need to get set positions, that is the first step in fixing the defense. Guys like Clemens can move around, but not everyone has the ability or is comfortable doing it.
  10. I will believe it when I see it. There is a need tomorrow, not soon.
  11. All the talk about Keaschall in CF, he is learning the position on the fly. But there is a solution, the front office is just too stubborn or not competent enough to pull the trigger.
  12. That is kind of my point, improve the defense so you can put in a role where he will be more successful and therefore the team will be too. I see many comments over many different posts where they want starting somewhere, I don't think that is his best role.
  13. Thanks to this mismanaged roster, we have Caratini and Jackson, so basically no viable options to pinch hit if needed.
  14. Clemens is still someone to me who needs to play 4 to 5 days a week in a super utility role. He has definitely exceeded expectations but I don't think playing every day is the best use of Kody. His average and OPS are basically league average and I think he contributes better in a super utility role.
  15. Need a spot for Kreidler, so that makes sense.
  16. He finally went back to what got him to the major leagues. He has been going with the pitch more to RF, one example was the walkoff hit against KC and I think he will continue. I really don't the Twins tinkering with him right now. This front office has a history of trying to change the swings of our prospects going all the way back to Buxton and it has never worked out. Martin, Lee and now Lewis have all mentioned this. It is one thing to work and suggest tweaks within their normal framework but they have tried to completely overhaul swings and it's not working.
  17. So he struggles in the second instead of the first inning.
  18. You would sit Lewis who has been our hottest hitter just so Roden can play. This is the problem with this team, they need some set positions and then someone needs a day off you slot them in. But Roden is not the answer and I would not sit Lewis for Roden or move him to 2B so Bell can be a butcher at 1B.
  19. Kreidler should be playing once or twice a week, Lee is the third baseman until they find a better replacement. If Jenkins is up here, he needs to play every day and sure not sit for Roden. Roden needs to be sent down at some point, he has not grabbed hold of any of his opportunities. He is either an injury replacement like now for Buxton or he should be in St. Paul.
  20. Yes I saw that article and I agree about Martin but Kreidler is a utility player at most. Kriedler's numbers went off the cliff when he started playing full time, to me it's fairly obvious what his role should be, but now Shelty seems determined to fit him into the lineup similar to Caratini. And I hope that feeling fades.
  21. If only we had a real CF in St. Paul that could help this team. And put Kreidler on the bench as a late inning replacement where he is most effective.
  22. I am not sure where you get 2 million fans in attendance from. This year is 1.7m, so getting to 2m may or may not be feasible. And I don't think they are planning any ticket increases, my season tickets aren't going up next year. You have made a lot of assumptions but without seeing the books you have no idea. Tom P. has said payroll will go up. but will the money be spent wisely, that is the question we should be asking. If Zoll is still in charge I wouldn't count on it.
  23. They still have three catchers and Jackson needs to go before Martin, you just can't keep carrying 3 catchers and not utilizing a roster spot.
  24. Why is it to early to judge Roden. Everyone seems to forget he had a run with Toronto playing regularly the first month of the season last year with a batting ave of .188 and OPS of .541. He has done nothing in three different stints to guarantee playing time. There are better options coming up behind him.
