  1. Rooker is climbing the ladder, batting 300 last 10 games, 11 rbis in 40 ab's, not bad
  2. Absolutely I'd trade Sano for young good catcher. Watching him in the minors, sometimes not 100% engaged in game which results at times muffing routine grounders at 3rd, appears to mirror his performance in majors, including being overweight. Not sure if he figures it out.
  3. Yep, too bad about Melotakis, part of that vaunted high velocity reliever class. Made it to triple a then flamed out. I believe he had an injury couple years back, may have still affected him. Gonsalves just had a 1 game hiccup.
  4. Lynn getting hammered like this is not surprising, all he throws is FB (2 seam, 4 seam) coming in at 91 to 93/94, occasional CB. Hitters are just teeing up on him. Lynn's limited arsenal seems opposite to Twins preaching to prospects they must have 3 or 4 pitches (all mastered) before they come up, I.e. Gonsalves.
  5. Man that was a fun game to watch. I just can't get over Romero. His pitches, easy delivery, nasty stuff, hitting the outside corner low n away on serious heat. Dam, we got our Ace. Also, Rosario, Kepler, Escobar, "Keep on Trucking" Wilson had great games.
  6. Dozier sucks. What a lousy at bat. And he wants a big FA contract. Let him go elsewhere. We'll be lot stronger with Escobar at 2nd, Polanco SS. Whole line up gets stronger.
  7. Romero starts his big league career, 11 plus innings and no runs allowed
  8. Announcers think Romero becomes 2nd half closer when Santana comes back. I think that's a mistake.
  9. Wow. Romero impressive. Fooled Fowler big time
  10. Romero stuff is absolutely filthy. Kos a guy on a 93 mph slider. Unreal
  11. These ESPN announcers are the friggen worlds worst. Romero kos 6 in3 innings and not one word. Geez their bush.
  12. With these relievers blowing leads, the Twins could really use a fresh arm in the Pen. Oh, I see where Hughes has thrown ZERO pitches in the last 5 days, he really must be fresh. Hmm, oh that's right, he's only to be used in mop up or blow out duties. Wait, haven't the Twins lost 11 or so of last 13 games. Why, with all those losses, seems to me his arm should be falling off by now. But, wait, he's thrown only ZERO pitches. Boy, I'm really confused. This baseball stuff is really complicated.
  13. Just looked, Morrison has .087 BA, Grossman .080. Can't believe it, LM no longer worst hitter. Sheeze. Grossman needs to go, Granite is not this bad.
  14. Watched the game, Berrios was lights out. Bats are really cold. Carrasco was good but still. Last nights line up doesn't really put any fear in anyone. Morrison missing by a foot, Sanos strike outs. Probably a good thing game went extra innings. They all need at bats. Maybe not playing in 4 days is the reason. BUT, our pitching was lights out
  15. Why is this thread on Twins Daily
  16. I read that too, claims he had 2 surgeries last year, feeling great, and been working on a slider this past off season. Thinks he's got it down. So the question is where's his velo? My guess is to the Twins Brass, is if he can get it up to 85 to 90, throw in his off speed, he's our man. After all, they owe him $25M over next 2 years. (What in the world was Ryan smoking when he extended Hughes). Its the Twins Way to get their money's worth out of Hughes. So, if Hughes arm is still attached when camp ends, it wouldn't surprise me, he's the 4th starter until Santana's back, then pushed back to 5th starter. If not, he'll be back n the pen.
  17. Hello Pablo Sandoval, lasted couple yrs with Red Sox, guess he's back with Giants.
  18. Shedding salary. Per ownership. They had to go from upper 70's payroll to 60M
  19. As much as I like Kepler, I'd flip him with Gonsalves. A southpaw thats close to starting with the Twins is pretty darn valuable. If he can tighten up his control a little, to me, he has the arsenal and moxie to be more than a mid rotation starter
