  1. Too lazy to go back and read the original post, but my impression was it was advocating bringing a player up early enough to risk losing their rookie status this season because they could send them down next season before they had gotten a years service time. I leave it to you to distinguish between a year of service time and roy eligibility. I might have inferred the poster's intention of sending them down next season. They might have meant this season, which, sure, it would work to retain rookie status, but you lose the advantage of bringing them up early to begin with. I also am too lazy to lok up Gil, and sad he won ROY for a different team, but i assume it falls in the latter category.. And i also assume there was a reason other than preserving rookie status to send him down, or he wasn't up so early as to lose it to begin with? And my impression is last collective bargaining agreement also rewarded teams with ROY finishers? It encourages them to bring them up early in the season, but also increases the incentive to be deliberate about later cal ups.
  2. I spoke prematurely. Somehow the spin cycle was never completed.
  3. I've seen things you wouldn't believe... I've seen ketchup stains off cuffs of hoodies... All these moments will be lost, like tears in the rain. Time to dry.
  4. Larnach with an assist. As expected. Now make it count.
  5. Going start laundry during the commercial break...
  6. Game Ober, man! (But i imagine Chief will get his money's worth, and stay 9 more innings)
  7. I speculate Chief already has a hat that serves.... Sorry to have made assumptions about millinery circumstances.
  8. So it is based on when you buy the ticket, you don't actually have to show up early to target field? If i had dreams, you might have crushed a very small one... (ps. my only time at target field, i was complimented for my hat)
  9. Prince Humperdinck approves of your phrasing. (corollary: playing in the fireswamp could be a decided homefield advantage.) PS did you get a hat? People aren't wearing enough hats....
  10. Too lazy to track down video clips, but the halfway through a recent Futurama episode, they offered an alternative to a mop for a drinking skeleton. (which is just something featured in decade old game threads, to wax nostalgic for a moment)
  11. Oh! So they really want Buxton to mysteriously disappear into a cornfield...
