    Yeah, turning 40 is nothing. I remembered once when i turned 1300. Vaguely. It was when i read War and Peace for Russian Lit. At least i'm pretty sure it was more than 1300 pages long... I admit i don't remember very much. I'll have to do it again sometime... But really, it isn't you getting older, it's the rest of the world getting younger and perhaps a little bit more foolish. Hard to say...

    That was actually a concept for an intro i was holding in my back pocket for some time... (Though i can never get the Simpsons' reference out of my head... "Blurst?!") I just didn't know what the "far far better thing" would be. (And if i proved ignorant of the actual story, i must confess i didn't read it, i listened to it on a cross country drive on the tail of a long day)

    A compromise: If you've ever seen the movie Brazil, they got these tiny tv screens which they put enormous magnifying lenses over. Makes for wonderful visuals...

    I meant to say that... (For those of you not a-watchin', Hunter puts a single to shallow right center, and Mauer pokes one through the right side of the infield. Hunter goes to 3rd drawing a direct throw to third which is off. Mauer follows to second and beats the throw from the 3rd baseman) CBU!

    I also gotta read me this thread in a slower and deliberate fashion. There was poetry. Good stuff. And i's sad i did not the contribute. And having asked what we learned, i gotta learn too, if only to set a good example. But yeah, as fun as it may be to give folk a hard time, life is probably more important than game threads, so don't be too hard on anyone who acknowledges that... Anyway, yeah... Find time to read. Learn something myself, and perhaps contribute a bit more next time.
