  1. Danny Santana is going to be the odd man out between he, Dozier, and Rosario. It's hard to imagine all three on the same roster by mid-2015.
  2. There are a dozen interesting players on this roster, so I can't wait to get this season going!
  3. .266/.358/.345 (.703) in 165 plate appearances at Fort Myers. 18 walks and 15 strikeouts, so he is maintaining his plate discipline. A little more pop still needed.
  4. Herrmann's 2014 AAA season: .345/.362/.491 (.853) in 58 plate appearances. He will remain on the fringe for the time being. It isn't clear that anyone other than Eric Fryer is in favor enough in the organization to compete for that up-and-down call-up spot.
  5. Still waiting for Williams' return from the DL. Anyone have any more information on his injury?
  6. The only trade value Pino is going to have is in a package with someone else headlining the trade (dear god let that end up being Correia).
  7. Pretty much agree with your moves here, though we know Meyer has only about 90 or so innings left and I wouldn't want him to just be done in mid-August. I like that Correia's ERA is down to 5.29 and we note progress, somehow.
  8. Vance probably can be a legitimate starting pitcher. It was not going to work here. It just wasn't. Anyway, the rebuild certainly is in process and the results, so far, are surprising. Who could have imagined this team this close in the division given: A: The Sano and Buxton injuries. B: The Hicks struggles and the Pinto demotion C: The fact that none of the pitching prospects have moved to the big leagues. D: Joe Mauer batting like a below-average first baseman E: The injury to Oswaldo Arcia, effectively delaying his contribution ? The team is still on track for the arrival of Sano and Buxton in 2015, with a more mature Arcia, Pinto, and Hicks. Mauer's struggles still cannot be indefinite. Brian Dozier is the real deal. Eddie Rosario will be up in September. Danny Santana is somehow doing this well. Eduardo Escobar has emerged. Phil Hughes and Kyle Gibson appear to be real pitchers at the top of a rotation. This rotation will soon become better with an improved Nolasco, and the arrival of Alex Meyer and Trevor May. Meanwhile, the Twins *could* be trading partners with a number of teams with regard to Willingham, Morales, Fien, and Duensing.
  9. Not sure what else Romero has to do to get some big league time. Full season at AAA now and has an .814 OPS. He also can be the backup first baseman. You know, given that the Parmelee era should really be over now.
  10. Yeah, Florimon as a bench player provides nothing anyway.
  11. Romero instead of Florimon instead? Why not? 40-man still has moveable parts.
  12. Precisely. What is actually going on in this organization if this kind of thing can actually happen. Either they are making stuff up/exaggerating, or they bumped the guy after one good year at AA knowing that he had the issues that they are now complaining about. Aside from that, he has been getting better through the year. He just isn't playing now.
  13. Hicks has actually improved over the last month and now there is this irresponsibility from LEN 3! If this is going to be such a stupid, ridiculous issue for the Twins, then yes, send him down to Rochester until Santana starts to fall flat (he will, at least for awhile). How this organization has handled Hicks (and Parmelee in the past) is beyond my comprehension. And they were about to continue to do it to Pinto too, but luckily something had to give.
  14. Tomshaw is 25 at Fort Myers and doesn't strike people out. And Jones' strikeouts are down this year too.
  15. Haha. I am really not sure why he has been regarded so highly by so many. Hopefully Cederoth is like Gonsalves last year (fantastic draft steal).
  16. I would go with: Santana (for as long as he keeps this up) Mauer Dozier Dozier batting behind Mauer is going to be the ideal situation. And it is actually quite good to have the best homerun hitter on a team batting third.
  17. There is no way in hell I would bring Eric Fryer or Chris Herrmann to replace Josmil Pinto on the 25-man roster. Pinto playing more might actually help him. Imagine that . . .
  18. My post 2014 draft list of the top 70 prospects in the Twins organization: 1. Byron Buxton 2. Miguel Sano 3. Alex Meyer 4. Jose Berrios 5. Kohl Stewart 6. Eddie Rosario 7. Jorge Polanco 8. Kennys Vargas 9. Nick Gordon 10. Danny Santana 11. Trevor May 12. Stephen Gonsalves 13. Nick Burdi 14. Travis Harrison 15. Lewis Thorpe 16. Adam Walker 17. Max Kepler 18. Sean Gilmartin 19. Fernando Romero 20. Michael Cederoth 21. Michael Tonkin 22. A.J. Achter 23. Zach Jones 24. Niko Goodrum 25. Yorman Landa 26. Lester Oliveros 27. Aderlin Mejia 28. Daniel Ortiz 29. Amaurys Minier 30. Deibinson Romero 31. Randy Rosario 32. Jorge Felix 33. Dalton Hicks 34. D.J. Baxendale 35. Tyler Duffey 36. Jason Wheeler 37. James Beresford 38. Levi Michael 39. Logan Darnell 40. Adrian Salcedo 41. Tyler Jones 42. Brett Lee 43. Taylor Rogers 44. Aaron Slegers 45. Jason Kanzler 46. Alex Wimmers 47. Mason Melotakis 48. Edgar Ibarra 49. Cole Johnson 50. Zach Larson 51. Brian Navaretto 52. Sam Clay 53. Ryan Eades 54. Luke Bard 55. John Curtiss 56. Matt Tomshaw 57. Mitch Garver 58. Chad Christensen 59. Matt Koch 60. Todd Van Steensel 61. Steven Gruver 62. Kyle Knudson 63. Hudson Boyd 64. Mike Kvasnicka 65. Stuart Turner 66. Brandon Peterson 67. Pat Kelly 68. Andrew Cutura 69. Jared Wilson 70. Madison Boer
  19. I am soon posting mine, and it looks a little different than both of yours. But Thrylos is right about Vargas. Maybe not quite that high, given the difference between starting pitching and 1B/DH, but it is pretty obvious that Vargas is a top 10 prospect. I think that we might be able to look at Morales as the stop-gap for what Vargas might actually be. There are some similarities there.
  20. I am a little surprised at the nay-saying going on about this move. Think about the upgrade of Nunez over Bartlett and now Morales over Kubel. These are significant improvements. Trevor May for Correia really should happen immediately. Maybe it will after one more start for each of them. Worst case scenario the Twins falter and have Morales to trade at the deadline with Willingham, and both could really bring back nice players.
  21. It was going to happen anyway with Buxton arriving at some point next year (let's hope). It might be easier for Santana to stay in CF as he has been primarily an infielder and have Hicks, an outfielder, move to a new position.
  22. Cutura is my sleeper pick to impress as a starter. He has three pitches and isn't truly a meatballer.
  23. You will find a new (and better) career quickly. You can look at this as baseball taking away previous time from your writing career.
  24. Kubel and Parm are gone with the return of Fuld and the signing of Morales. There is no way he is going to be DH only, either. Some back up for Mauer and protection, after rearranging things, for any injuries to Willingham and/or Arcia. I certainly would like to see either Santana learn some LF or Hicks LF or RF. Neither one is ultimately the CF of the future, but I would like both in the lineup most of the time. The Twins now would have Willingham-Hicks-Arcia-Santana-Morales-Fuld-Mauer-Pinto for LF, CF, RF, DH, 1B (with Pinto getting increased C time and Santana getting some SS/2B time). Theoretically, Fuld-Santana-Hicks is possible in the OF late in games. The bench just got significantly better.
