  1. And there is evidence that Plouffe is going to perform in 2015 like he did in 2014 somewhere? Where is that evidence?
  2. That would be Jack Buck, father of Joe Buck. Sometimes the apple falls far from the tree . . .
  3. I haven't watched enough this year, but do you observers believe it is a matter of not getting to certain balls, missing routine ones, making errant throws when he has to hurry, or missing routine throws? There are four options there.
  4. 1. I don't understand why the Hunter-Arcia thing went down the way it did in the first place. 2. I don't understand why when Schafer and Robinson are both in the game, Schafer is in CF. 3. I don't understand what, exactly, is going on with Hicks' defense. They claim was that he was MLB-ready defensively *years* ago. How does poor route running escape evaluators for the Twins from 2008 or whatever-on? 4. I don't understand how Danny Santana didn't get time to learn LF in the offseason and spring training. Just as an option and additional chance for him. The Hunter-Arcia swap must happen. That is the minimum.
  5. Damn it, I said this all along in the lead up to the season and my articles about Walker and Harrison! Few actually believe it would be possible. Granted, I also thought Rosario would be involved, but it still stands that this is totally doable.
  6. I always thought that they could figure out a roster rotation at Chatty with all those guys, but Hicks could move up to AAA given his hot start.
  7. Exactly right. Herrmann is about the only guy that the Twins have worked through the system to fill out a roster. They seem to get attached to "regular or bust" ideas about their prospects.
  8. This. Back around 2012-2013 I thought of him as Pedro Florimon (when he was shaky) but with a bat that could keep him in the majors if he didn't strike out too much. We'll see how that pans out.
  9. Twelve games have been played so far this year. Look around the league at some of the players who are struggling mightily. Should the Reds send Billy Hamilton down? Etc. etc.
  10. The above is just for argument's sake. I don't think Pinto should be anywhere but catching two games a week for the Twins, DHing one, and being whatever scrubby starting CF's personal pinch hitter. Make Pinto and Escobar into 1/2 time players for the MLB club.
  11. Might Pinto learn more from Eric Fryer at Rochester than from Suzuki in Minnesota?
  12. I basically would never send him down to AAA again. Same with Arcia, and probably Vargas. Pinto down there again beyond a reasonable time is already atrocious enough. If ever comes down to Doug Bernier replacing Danny Santana, I will give up. I don't even know what it means, but I will give up.
  13. Escobar has yet to spell Dozier, and both Vargas and Mauer will get days off soon (Arcia to DH, etc.) so that part of the issue won't come into play yet. They should stick with Santana at the leadoff spot playing SS for two more weeks before making any changes.
  14. Yes, it should be Santana-Mauer-Dozier-Vargas/Arcia-Hunter/Plouffe
  15. Great article. It illustrates the need to get these players UP so as to begin the process, process, process. The question is going to really be whether or not they want these guys all playing every day. I can see a Twins roster by the end of June that is suddenly loaded with Sano, Hicks, Buxton, Rosario, Polanco, and Pinto. That would require six guys to replace: Schafer, Robinson, Nunez, Herrmann, Escobar/Plouffe, and a pitcher (ideally, somehow). But they can't all play everyday. When does half-time in MLB become better than full-time in AAA?
  16. A point in making very long prospect lists is to establish the fact that certain players are on the radar. Josmil Pinto was around 50 on my list after his 2011 season and we have seen how that went. Here, I am singling out 12 prospects who are not in most top 20 Twins prospect lists, but they could easily be with very strong 2015 seasons. I expect that at least three of these guys will be in the top 20 in six months time. Jorge Fernandez Lewin Diaz Levi Michael Mat Batts Aaron Slegers J.T. Chargois Zach Granite John Curtiss Tyler Kuresa Tanner English Jack Barrie Zach Larson
  17. I added Adrian Salcedo as a third. I won't add more to my list here until I actually post thread about them.
  18. I like this!
  19. I will be amazed if Gonzales makes the Twins next year. I had written him off early in 2014. I wouldn't be surprised if they moved him to Rochester when they want Kepler to play regularly. Polanco is the real deal.
  20. I had Duffey starting in AAA before *both* May and Meyer went there. So it makes sense.
