  1. And it is a true 15 day kind of replacement with Rosario headed back down afterwards. When Hicks comes up, it will be for good (or bad--then he will be gone). I will say that I don't know if this is really a good thing for Rosario at the moment. If he struggles on top of his lackluster time in AAA and AA the past 100 or whatever games, then I could see the rest of 2015 being a problem for him. I wish they had Danny Ortiz on the 40-man so he could take this spot instead.
  2. I probably don't want Super 2 status, but that won't happen if they chill out until August (dear god trade Hunter). Maybe Hicks, Pinto, and Meyer are already up, and then August brings Sano, Buxton, and Rosario (the first two get a month of AAA time). Of course that isn't going to happen if the Twins are like 60 and 60 and in the hunt.
  3. Well, Jesus H., someone needs to replace Jordan Schafer, minimally. Pinto can do it as having Herrmann allows for both Pinto's use as a DH/pinch hitter and another OF. Nunez and Robinson will be turning into pumpkins soon enough as well.
  4. It's the beginning of May, so I thought it would be a good time to evaluate my 2015 breakthrough prospect candidates based on their first weeks this year. Here I highlight the position players and will focus on the pitchers tomorrow. Lewin Diaz and Jack Barrie have not started playing yet this season. Jorge (JJ) Fernandez (CDR) was injured a few week ago and is just returning. Statistics so far: 44 PA, .220/.273/.341, three doubles, one triple, three walks, 10 strikeouts Levi Michael (CHA) is really heating up. Statistics so far: 67 PA, .246/.353/.509, three doubles, three triples, two homers, seven walks, 12 strikeouts, three steals, and two times caught stealing Tanner English (CDR) has moved into the leadoff spot. Statistics so far: 82 PA, .239/.337/.352, three doubles, one triple, one homer, 11 walks, 15 strikeouts, eight steals, and one time caught stealing Zach Granite (CDR/FTM) has already been promoted to a new level. He has had some initial problems with A+ pitching, but the overall numbers are still good. Statistics so far: 98 PA, .318/.414/.400, five doubles, one triple, 13 walks, eight strikeouts, eight steals, and two times caught stealing Zack Larson (CDR) has struggled at the plate. Statistics so far: 100 PA, .190/.314/.250, three doubles, one triple, 13 walks, 22 strikeouts, five steals, and one time caught stealing. Tyler Kuresa (CDR) is not hitting well, at present. Statistics so far: 70 PA, .224/.243/.313. three doubles, one homer, two walks, and 17 strikeouts
  5. Pinto could replace Vargas, who might need a month away from The Show to work on stuff. Also, Jordan Schafer now doesn't even steal bases anymore, so his value is negative. I would pinch hit for Schafer in innings 7-9 with Pinto in every single game that Pinto didn't start.
  6. By the way, what is the story with the "g" suddenly on the end of Aderlin? And why does BR still think Mat Batts is Matt Batts?
  7. I will say that it is pretty disappointing to see how AAP is doing so far this year. I could understand July and August fatigue, but so many players without threads at all and so many with only the first post?
  8. Either promote him or trade him. I am sick of this.
  9. So, somehow, all of these guys are still available (notables, of course there are a lot more): Cedar Rapids: Tyler Kuresa, Zach Granite, Trey Vavra, Mat Batts, Cameron Booser, Trevor Hildenberger Fort Myers: Chad Christensen, Engelb Vielma, Jason Kanzler, Aderlin(g) Mejia, Aaron Slegers, Todd Van Steensel Chattanooga: Tyler Duffey, Cole Johnson, Tim Shibuya, Alex Wimmers Rochester: Ryan O'Rourke, Reynaldo Rodriguez, Taylor Rogers, Lester Oliveros That's just 20 guys who I would think should be necessarily profiled on this site. Has no one called early dibs on Lewin Diaz yet either?
  10. And with Goulik -- Zaino Henriquez and Carlos Suniago, I think that is everyone so far.
  11. And dropping. There are plenty of at bats for Pinto. And Suzuki himself isn't overwhelming at the plate or behind it.
  12. In about 175 plate appearances as of right now in 2015, the trio of Vargas, Escobar, and Schafer have a combined OPS of about .470-.475.
  13. .240/.330/.420 is more like it. And that would be very good for a backup catcher/part-time DH.
  14. Honestly, I think Vargas should go back to AAA at this point in favor of Pinto. Plouffe and Herrmann can back up Mauer for now at first.
  15. No one is going to trade for Ricky Nolasco in 2015.
  16. Walker walks four times! I really like what Reynaldo Rodriguez and Dalton Hicks are doing this year. Hicks has been on fire since last July or so. Zach Granite would really help Fort Myers right now.
  17. According to FG, wasn't Plouffe 9th amongst 3B in WAR and isn't he 15th so far this year? That's called the wrong direction.
  18. Um, you are the one claiming he is "one of the best at his position" and a real extension candidate.
  19. I will be disappointed if the Twins don't trade him by August 1st this year.
