In the immortal words of Jerry Glanville, "He just needs to learn two words: I'm full!" Sorry Kennys, you had your shots. Thank you for the bombs when your hit tool was on.
I have no problem with this move. Not much risk. If he doesn't pitch well, he won't make the team. If he pitches well, myself and other Twins fans who have been conditioned to appreciate shrewd moves will enjoy it.
Could this be our chance to get back at the Rays for the Delmon Young trade? I sure hope so. He is probably at least brings up the floor for the starting rotation. Nice move.
He had a rough start last year, but if you look at the last several outings in AA, they were good. Big heater and lots of swing and miss. Probably just a new face.
Nice move. This is a great prospect that is 19 instead of 16. Avoid spending the $1m and the Angels already spent $1m on the signing bonus. Those moves add up.
I loved him. He was awesome. He was the best in baseball for awhile. He was 139-78 in 12 seasons. He struck out just under 2000 batters in just over 2000 innings. He didn't lead his team to championships. Nice career, just not a Hall of Fame resume'. Boy was it exciting to watch him at his peak though.
Get a couple of starters (Chatwood & Cobb?), and stay away from other team's closers. Kintzler would be nice to have back, but "closers" are too "here today and gone tomorrow".
Uh oh. Confidence for Buck. Watch out. Who needs deadline trades to bring in talent when deadline deals to shed players can help make the young guys man up? The odds of the Twins making the playoffs is increasing every day.
The best thing about Jaime Garcia is the chip on everyone's shoulder created by his departure. The second best thing is how badly he has pitch for those damn Yankees.
