This one has my approval. Doumit didn't have much on field value last year and certainly wasn't a long term asset. To get a guy with a pulse while dropping his salary and roster spot is a great move. Lots to like here.
Looking at his starts in July and August, he was pretty solid. He tailed off in September (not surprising after quick TJ recovery). Re-evaluate his season in more detail, and you may see why they wanted him back.
If they still have their eyes on Arroyo, I can understand this. It takes the pressure off rushing young arms/keeps them controllable longer. I still would have rather seen them spend more on Garza though.
"Parm" excites me like bathing in cold peas. Kubel may be past his prime, but he brings the kind of edge I think the team lacks. Hopefully he can regain his stroke to the tune of .260/20/60. Welcome back Kubes.
Why sell low on Willingham? There is a reasonable chance he will bounce back this year. Perkins and his contract are good enough to get all that for just him. I do like the sell high on Correia is good, but I don' know who would buy. Thumbs down to this one.
