  1. Why is that the limit on berrios? No Kepler? He is on the 40 man.
  2. get over yourself. It hurts no one. Judging other people for how they have fun? That is a good thing?
  3. A big change was spending big money on the bullpen (ahem) to go from one of the worst to one of the best in 1 year. Their GM deserves a ton of credit.
  4. Classic sunk cost situation with Graham...."I invested this much, I can't just cut him now" Achter Tonkin One of your other favorites, like Thompson, Wheeler, Darnell Pinto none of them are as valuable to the Twins this year, or as trade bait, as having Berrios in MN and helping them make the playoffs this year.
  5. Right. I used to run pinewood derby races....there are all kinds of links on the internet about what "best" really means, and how to judge it.......
  6. First, there is no real "fair" way to do the schedule. Teams change throughout the year, players get hurt, etc........so this concept that there is some "fair" way to judge who is the best team is really hard to pull off. What does best even mean? Isn't the team with the best record after 162 games really the best team, the playoffs really don't reflect that. While a balanced schedule and no divisions probably make things more fair, I'm not sure it increases entertainment, since it reduces rivalries and other things......
  7. According to actual studies, limits on increasing innings don't have any correlation to injury. It's junk science. Call him up. Between Molitor and Ryan, they can figure out a role for them all. The goal is to have the best people here, giving them the best shot to make the playoffs.
  8. Cotts is a FA, I believe, after this year. Burdi is never going to be a starter.....
  9. Ya.......ya......probably right....
  10. Berrios should be up now, in the bullpen or rotation. They are legit playoff contenders, that should be the focus right now, not 7 years from now.....
  11. Every opportunity for him is probably NOT one for Berrios......I get the depth thing, I do. But if you keep your better player in AAA, just in case of injury, is that really the best idea?
  12. There is no reason not to call up Meyer. He's on the 40 man, and has been optioned already this year. Zero downside.....
  13. Ya, I don't agree with this opinion at all. It makes winning the division WAAAAAAY more valuable than making the WC. That said, if they went to a 3 game series, I'd be good with that.
  14. Huh, how did I miss the National Park thing? National Parks are kind of my thing.......
  15. It's actually National banana split day, and national whiskey sour day. Apparently some teenager decided what today was...... or, you could consider this day: http://nationaldaycalendar.com/national-kiss-and-make-up-day-august-25/ apparently those are all "unofficial" days, so, you know, celebrate how you want.
  16. I'm done arguing over this year, that ship has sailed. Next year? He should, imo, be in the rotation. He is a better pitcher, imo, than several other options. If that is true.....move those players to the bullpen.
  17. If anyone wonders who is more valuable.....check out what they are paid......
  18. Well, that team was amazingly luck in May......no one consistently beats a team with that much good sequencing luck. But, I think if you look at the talent on the two teams, this one is more talented by quite a bit.
  19. I admit I didn't see that sweep coming....... The year has largely been a success to me at this point, still playing meaningful games this late in the year, and probably for much of the next month.
  20. I have no information. But I would move him to the bullpen full time at this point.
  21. Other teams don't have this fear of using eventual starters in the bullpen the year before. KLAW and others online, former FO people, are wondering why Berrios isn't here. This isn't an irrational fan opinion.
  22. If they think they are a playoff team, shouldn't he be up here this year? We won't agree on this, but they should be trying to win if they are trying to win, not worry about 5 years from now. And the twenty percent thing is based on junk science.
  23. It is odd, to me, because it is weeks later than it should be. I still think this is about the injury, not thinking the pen is bad. Otherwise the logic is a bit off.
  24. Fair enough. I am with Brock, this was a great idea weeks ago.....now, it seems like window dressing. Which I guess is better than nothing.
