  1. That was my thought. Dalvin and a 4th for a mid to high 3rd, that's my goal here......I'd do Dalvin and a 5th for a 4th, but I'd prefer the former.
  2. If Martin hits, he's your LF (with great speed), IMO. I would start Martin in AAA and let him do his thing with a healthy wrist this year. I agree with the rest of your alignment though.
  3. That's highly dependent on if Lewis goes to third, or CF.....because I think Lee might go to third. Also, on Polanco being traded. Frankly, I'd trade Polanco after this year if Lee and Lewis and Julien look this good.
  4. I'd put him at first/ dh / 2nd and let it go at that. If Kiriloff is hurt, I'd like him at first / dh THIS year. Why not? Let's see what happens (maybe a month or so at AAA). His bat is good enough, I think, that I'd rather see him hitting than a few regulars already on the team.
  5. 100% sure you would have seen Varland and/or Ober do so this year, had they not traded for Lopez.
  6. It's not as easy as I hoped, but I'm better at it as I get older.
  7. Why do we care that some fans don't understand his greatness? Why? How does that effect us at all? Why let it bother you?
  8. This isn't a real post, right? You want him not to use his actual last name, why?
  9. My favorite part was the Law and Order rerun bit!
  10. No one outside Minnesota hyped him, and even that was muted. Nothing about them is similar, imo.
  11. I'm a fan,, but giving examples of similar pitchers from twenty or more years ago doesn't work for me. Hitters are so much better at crushing the ball now. I think he's a number four starter, until he gets one plus pitch. That might be enough to get him to a good number three, because the rest of his stuff is good, if not yet elite. He's 22, and has a real chance to get better.
  12. Imagine if Philly had taken him ..... Literally the only player outside Darrisaw I care if they keep.
  13. Contrary to myth, hope and dreams are healthy. Those are different than expectations.....I too hope he's great!
  14. Agreed. Those looking for next year are very likely to be disappointed.
  15. Literally in the top ten by every rating agency. Are they all twins fans? This is the kind of chance a team should take. A player with great talent that fell in the draft due to injury.
  16. Which MLB player should have tried to steal more last year? Or, most people are reading what others say, and going off that and it isn't "shiny new toy syndrome" whatever that is.
  17. Not to mention hitting is down across the leagues since Polanco was that age......
  18. Counterpoint..... By the logic some of you use, you would have ranked Bryce Harper low his first year, because he hadn't proven anything yet..... I agree that production matters, but it matters a lot less to a guy with one year of minor league at bats than a 25 year old with years of data. This ranking is consistent with national sites, who actually see guys play. Seems reasonable.
  19. Players that have exceptional years often revert to their normal performance. That is the main source of the belief in a sophomore slump.....people see someone that had a great year have a very good or average year. NO one talks about the players that take a step up getting a sophomore boost.....
