I admit to not liking the headline or article. Nothing went wrong. The vast majority of guys don't make the majors. Winder was a mid round pick, nothing went wrong. Severino was signed as a HS aged KID, nothing went wrong. But I get that writing it differently isn't click bait.....
Not sure what KC was thinking, they stunk. But MN and SD were trying to win (not that I like the decisions all the way, but no one apparently thought Rooker was good, or he wouldn't have been in Oakland).
back end starters are on teh waiver wire?
Also, "likely" and "maybe he can be a lot more" are very different things. It is extremely likely that most of the guys that are the 6-10th best prospect on most teams never see the majors.
"Falvey" should be replaced by "ownership" here for sure.....
As to the OP and the series. A: The articles are NOT concluding that players should be traded. This idea that there is some zeal for trading all the good players shows people don't actually read what is posted. B: I'd deal him for the right package, and I 100% deal him if they deal Lopez or CC and punt (which is what that would mean). I want Teel or a RH hitting OF/1B in return.
I think I agree with this.
However, if they are NOT going to try to contend (say they deal Lopez or CC), then they should just deal everyone, including Castro.
I want Preillip in the pen this year. Get value. If he's healthy, he can be stretched out next year. It's not like he's pitching a ton of innings this year
He's either really good next year, and needs to be protected, or he's ok and doesn't. Either way he's likely to be a Twin after next year
I won't worry about him, as he was hurt last year. Let's see how he is when healthy.
I'd move prielipp to RP for at least this year. If he survives and they want to stretch him out, they can the following year. He's not likely to pitch many innings this year
