    I'm not sure there is much the team can do at this point to improve. It's way earlier than trades are usually made. But I agree with your general point!

    Bellicheck was awful in Cleveland.... And after Brady left.... I'm not arguing keeping Rocco is good. I'm arguing it's much more the players. It is possible a new voice is needed. It's likely they need new players.

    You can make a good decision and not have it work. There were three, IIRC , pitchers traded, none of them worked. I guess they could have done nothing like Ryan did. How'd that work?

    Before he was traded, we were on the field for camera day. I asked him if he was going to stay a Twin. He said if it was up to him he would. He talked to everyone that day....

    At least they tried to win......unlike the previous FO. It didn't work, so what? Staying put under Ryan never worked either. This idea that doing nothing (which is actively doing something, actually) is somehow preferable to trying and failing is odd to me....

    Royce has played zero or less than half a season every year.....at what point is that an issue for you?

    Me? I promote guys to AA and AAA faster. Test them. Find out what you have or not. But that's not their way.

    The bullpen is not burned. Look at the projected innings. They just aren't. I'm not defending the manager, but let's at least use facts when making accusations.

    It's clear they were trying to get SWR five innings, w/o facing the top 3-4 hitters three times. Didn't work, of course, but that was the goal.

    I'd deal whichever SP Baltimore will give the most back for, but yes.....

    This. They've fielded a LOT of bad players (esp. pitchers while they waited for their plan to work). But, it's the total lack of developing above average every day players that is killing them right now (and Jax utterly blowing three games somehow). Plus, it seems clear SWR is a RP at this point, and they should call up Zebby. They can always send SWT to STP to get back up to innings if needed....

    Right? Very few picks outside round 1 become good to great players. It's not quite random in round 2, but after round 3? Fairly random.

    I still laugh that a certain poster said it was foolish to take Greene because Lewis would 100 percent be healthier.... It's hard to maybe the team, though. You just can't predict these injuries. As for Rooker..... Every team agreed with the Twins, so no chance anyone saw this coming. At the time, they were competitive, and Rooker needed to be on the forty man, and I'm curious who people think they should have cut, without hindsight.... But this site will never let this go, despite ever team agreeing with the Twins.
