    I don't think there is a legit 3b prospect in St. Paul.... I'd still promote DeAndrade and free up SS in A ball.... I get both those suggestions are aggressive, but they need a backup SS in Minnesota and a healthy 3b also.... Though I think Lee is that 3b, in not certain he'll hit enough.

    We're talking about trading veterans while they have excess value and are still helping the team. That's what both those teams do, especially Tampa. Kepler would have been traded two years before he left, for example. Same with polanco. Jax this year. I'm not saying that's right or wrong....

    The latest in the year no first round pick has been traded, I believe. I agree, we'll see two or three RBs in round one. Three QBs. You have to take a chance on QB if you don't have one.

    Untrue. They haven't traded one veteran early. They never traded Kepler. They are nothing like those teams. edit: see below, they've traded pitchers .....

    What proven SS was available to be traded for? What would you do with him while CC was healthy?

    And stashed them where? What team has an extra proven MLB SS in AAA that is ready to play every day? What would you have done with that player while CC was healthy? I don't think this is easy at you think. Most backups are unproven or not good. Especially on teams with budget limits. They have Lee and Castro. It's unrealistic to get another guy, who is MLB proven, and have him sit around.
