Ok, I've done your little mental exercise using another player, and pretending he is on the Padres or Marlins, I can't for the life of me understand why they are calling up Johnny Field over Byron Buxton

Yeah, the Rangers were pounding Gonsalves. Like, here comes the pitch, batter gets huge eyes, commence high leg kick, swing as hard as humanly possible, crush the ball somewhere. Congrats to Gonsalves for earning the chance to pitch in the bigs, though. Romero and Stewart look to have much better future prospects in MLB

The Twins don't value Escobar more than most teams. Escobar was an "asset" to them that was traded away, for future assets. Said so right here on TwinsDaily He won't want to come back. I doubt the Twins will make him a competitive offer anyway. What makes you think they will?

For two weeks. And he has a record of starting slow. Two weeks, my man.
  5. Hosken Bombo Disco
Well, what are the precedents for this? The Kris Bryant situation at the start of his career doesn't count.

No. His toe is healed. No, he doesn't. When guys go on the DL they can still travel with the team.

Red Wings games, hopefully that's what it is. The FO is already in a hole on this but that at least provides them cover.

Buxton was playing on a broken toe, the same way Castro had a broken knee and Morrison had a broken hip

Questionable ethics is putting it lightly. Another option is to call him up and not play him , and at least he is with his teammates and around the MLB game.

Maysie looking like a pitcher, not a belly itcher.
  11. Hosken Bombo Disco
ok so that's a tiny bit unfair IMO. The throw was on the bag but low and Adrianza had a hard scoop on it .. also Polanco didn't back it up, which is why the runner could go to third

All those guys took basic swings that inning. No timing mechanisms or toe taps or whatever. Buxton needs to just simplify it down. Just stand there relaxed like in little league, and if it's a good pitch, take a hack.

I'd like to thank "Moore", whoever the hell he is
  14. Hosken Bombo Disco
    Good lord this team

So if Garver could ever learn to play a position, from scratch, and then somehow practice his skills to the point where he could be competent at that position, and then work his way up through the minor league levels, he might actually have a future in MLB
  16. Hosken Bombo Disco
    I think that's the point?

    Sano facing a lefty, so....
  18. Hosken Bombo Disco
Gimenez to be called up.. really? like, isn't Cedar Rapids in the playoffs or something he could go to?
  19. Hosken Bombo Disco
    just... don't question
  20. Hosken Bombo Disco
So now the Twins are rallying. I don't know whether to be incensed or fired up.

    CBU update:
  22. Hosken Bombo Disco
I'm not ever going to run a search on this to confirm, but it seems like Polanco's errors are usually costly and lead to huge innings.
  23. Hosken Bombo Disco
    optimist?
  24. Hosken Bombo Disco
Well, that's what you get when your defense gives away like 7 outs in one inning
