  1. My gut tells me the Dodgers bats come alive today and Kershaw pitches like a master, Brewers go back to Milwaukee trailing 3-2 but with some much needed rest for the bullpen.
  2. Also, if the Twins were to follow the Brewer blueprint on handling Alcala the same way the Brewers handled Hader, that would mean promoting Alcala in mid-2020 after Alcala makes a dozen starts at AAA with a 5 ERA and 6 walks per 9, in other words, so wild that he’s ineffective. And then the Twins would have to move Alcala directly to the bullpen after the promotion, and Alcala would be successful there. Seems unlikely the Twins would do something like that for a guy who “can’t find the strike zone” in AAA, or have it work out if they did.
  3. I wanted the Brewers to win, but I also wanted Dozier’s box score to read 1-1-1-4
  4. I believe it. Not to mention some gutsy pitch-calling there late.
  5. Stop—I’m trying to have it both ways.
  6. Jeffress strikes out pinch hitter Dozier with the bases loaded to seal a 4-0 win for the Brewers and a 2-1 series lead.
  7. Not a strike, but too close to take. But not a strike.
  8. No check swing, no bite at that 0-2
  9. Counsell coming back to Jeffress. I’m guessing to get his head right for later in the series, if needed.
  10. Maybe the Dodgers should try starting Dozier tomorrow night, maybe he would do something to shake them out of their funk.
  11. I'd like to see Gibson stick around. He is not only a viable starter now, but with the other guys gone he has become the union rep and De facto clubhouse leader (at least for now).
  12. no, but Lewis might be closer than he appears (if he stays healthy, of course). The Lewis comps with Correa and Lindor are pretty good. We should see Rooker in 2019.
  13. You are right about the mid-200s team. Seems like most of the 2002 ALCS players made their MLB debuts before getting any significant time in the upper minors. A lot of times they made their debuts and were optioned back down. They also had chemistry, which the 2017 did and the 2018 did not. I am in favor of early promotions but also factor what is best for the player. We should see Rooker early next season. If Gordon has another strong minor league start, promote him (or trade him, as I've been saying for several offseasons). You can always send them back down, and in Gordon's case, will probably need to. They think Kiriloff still needs more time in the minors. We should expect to see Lewis around June 2020 as his timetable and production compares nicely with Correa and Lindor. Except for Lewis, in general I agree with you now that some of our old timers are gone.
  14. stunning that Counsell would go back to Jeffries yet again. He's had a terrible postseason. His arm is either shot or he is tipping pitches, yet there he is again.
  15. Last night's game, Milwaukee pitchers were 1-2 with a HR Today's game: 2-2 with a double. So far.
  16. Brewers survive game one, 6-5
  17. I had that as "out" in real time (oh good for me )
  18. Dozier: First WC at bat: Home run First LDS at bat: line drive single First LCS at bat: foul pop out Kind of wanted the streak to continue...
