  1. I picked the nastiest, most vicious, hateful word I could think of.
  2. So can we at least close the file on this particular candidate?
  3. Not sure what you're asking, but I'll tentatively answer with Yes. Not only in this thread, but by multiple posters on this page of the thread.
  4. Like I said, go back and try again.
  5. Honest question at this point: Are people allowed to question Klobuchar on her timid position on health care? Or is it evil to do that.
  6. Probably foreign-fueled threats, as we saw in 2016.
  7. You should go back and refresh your memory on who Biden is.
  8. More and more, I am thinking the Gonzalez signing is a Plan B for third base, for the reasons spycake is laying out. I wouldn't expect many people to think Sano will play more than 80-100 games in the field. He is too susceptible to injury and slump. Gonzalez might also be a mid-game substitution quite a bit when Sano does start (though not necessarily subbing for Sano).
  9. I loved your post so much I wrote a play about it. ACT 1 March, 2018. Location: Mother's basement. Twins Daily posters: Hey look! We signed Logan Morrison! Most other posters: YAY!! A few posters: why? The other posters: Don't you think the front office has thought this through? Those other posters: ... ACT 2 February 2019. Mother's basement. Twins Daily posters: Hey look! The End
  10. I'm trying to figure out how these guys fit, and I think there's a chance Garver starts in AAA, Astudillo being the better receiver. Also I think the Twins carry only 12 pitchers for the season's start. Maybe even 11 with the off days they have. They will also need cut at least one of the guys they just signed this offseason. Not a bad thing, necessarily. All seems a little weird to me. We'll see.
  11. I always took my medicine in one big gulp, ripped my bandaids off with one swift pull. Also, I’m neither screaming nor wondering why the right continues to win elections. We’ve said several times on these threads why we think the country continues rightward. But, go on, go ahead, with your arguments.
  12. I appreciate the thought, but the great landmark law should be made right away, immediately after the president takes office. If you think about it, it makes sense. First 100 days and all that.
  13. Hello - I answered upthread, but it reminds me of last offseason in the sense that they are signing players who expected bigger contracts at a discount after camp has started. Falvey said it was a mistake to do that last offseason, yet here we go again. I don't mind Gonzalez, he just seems redundant. Or if Gonzalez is the guy, then these other pickups (Cron, Schoop) seem redundant.
  14. True, it’s not about how left, right, or moderate she was. But, she was a moderate.
  15. Ok, people answering this question with: "all over the diamond." That's fine, but it kind of throws a few other signings into question, like the Schoop signing.
  16. I'm thinking in terms of signing guys late in the offseason for cheap contracts who had been expecting bigger contracts. That is Marwin Gonzalez to a T. And honest question, where is Gonzalez going to play? This 2/21 seems steep for a bench guy when Astudillo is making near minimum
  17. You mean like the 2016 election? Still confused. Also, it's not a my way or the highway, it's more like "come on in, the water's fine" /ninja'd by Pseudo
  18. I used to think her bipartisan bills were building goodwill and political capital with her among Republicans, but then the Kavanaugh nomination came along, and she either did not spend that goodwill convincing Republicans to vote against him, or tried to spend that goodwill and failed. If ever there was a time to call in a favor, that was it. So no, I’m less and less impressed with the “bipartisan-ness” of the bills she’s continuing to sponsor.
  19. Ok, fair, I will look for statements from her to that effect. I have not seen it reported. If you have a link you could share that, too.
  20. Fair, I see your point. I could also argue that what Klobuchar is accomplishing is worse than doing nothing (like adding a negative WAR player is not really making a team better). I don’t know.
  21. No, I’m observing/criticizing her for *not* doing that.
  22. What’s wrong with writing a bill that phases it in over a period of time?
