  1. That was it. If I run them on separate browsers it's fine.
  2. Thanks. Nice to know I'm not crazy. Or too crazy at least.
  3. Is anyone else having a problem getting the draft to stream? I can't get it to play. Coverage started at 6 pm ET right?
  4. It certainly works in theory. It's what I think they should of done with Blake Rutherford last year. It get's a little tricky though because you have to consider your reputation with agents and players. You don't want to burn those bridges without a good reason. The Astro's got a lot of bad press about low balling Aiken, but they were later shown to be right. I would say when drafting 1-1 it's much better to have a deal in place before the draft. You have plenty of time to do it.
  5. Welp. I guess it's time for me to make a call. There really doesn't seem to be a right or wrong answer this year. All these guys are pretty close. I would pick Hunter Greene. He throws in the high nineties and can throw strikes. That's a rare combination. If he develops a plus secondary pitch and an average one he's an ace. If not he's a closer or a shortstop. I'm fine if they take Mckay or Wright as well. In that order.
  6. Before the season we knew there would have to be some players playing well above for their projections for this to be a winning team. It actually has happened. I'm just going to be happy about it while it lasts.
  7. I'm not a scout, but I always want the guy with the highest upside. It sounds like that is Hunter Greene. The ability to sign a player doesn't mean much in the current collective bargaining agreement. The Twin's could of drafted Blake Rutherford in last years draft. If they don't sign you get virtually the same pick the following season. Considering it takes years for player to make it through the minors I can not see how this is an issue.
  8. Articles like this are the reason I visit Twins Daily daily. I'm not sure about the grammar on that. I've nothing to add. Hope he makes it to mlb, but even if he doesn't it is already a success story.
  9. Wow. I can't believe it's been that long. If I remember correctly Keith Law liked him more than Berrios back then. Hope that arm stays healthy!
  10. Stewart has been a bust for a while now. This doesn't change that.Kind of lackluster for opening day, but what can you do with the rain outs. Thanks for the article!
  11. Initially I was against the the decisions made in spring training, but after reading these quotes I can't help but infer that their are some work ethic problems on the team. This would be the time to address that issue. Therefore I now support the moves by the front office.
  12. After last year (with how Meyer, Chargois, and other young players were handled) I just don't have any respect for Paul Molitor's opinions. As such, when he is quoted on his evaluation of player performance it kind of irks me. It's going to be a long season for me.
  13. They should of just DFA'd Nolasco. It was a bad trade. I never saw the point of it.
  14. The Twins will have the largest International bonus pool next year, so I'd pass. The teams who are barred will be hard to outbid anyways.
  15. I'm fine with this ranking. Just cashing that 4 million dollar check puts him in the top ten until he proves he doesn't belong there. Hell, Kohl Stewart was ranked 8th. Maybe it would be better if every player had to earn their position equally, but that's not how the world works.
  16. To me last season was the year we needed to see Stewart break out. At this point I'd be surprised to see him end up as anything better than a AAAA starter. If they raise the strike zone he wouldn't even be that. Hopefully he turns a corner, but the odds of that are pretty low now.
  17. This guy sounds like our best shot at an ace. I really haven't heard much about this years college pitchers until the recent draft boards. If they had ace potential we'd of heard about them long before now. Remember how much you heard about Rodon in the years before he was drafted? Sure he slid a bit, the potential was always there.
  18. It was a tough year to watch Twins baseball, but in hindsight it was probably the kind of year they need to have. For the last 5 years we watched Ryan refuse to embrace a rebuilding phase. Signing mediocre veterans and giving out some long term contracts that were clearly not necessary. This year the rebuild was forced on him. Now he's gone and we can hope the next regime will be better. Not to mention Ryan also was unable to make moves to make a good team into a World Series contender in the past. Nunez and Abad brought back some pretty good prospects which is pretty shocking considering their careers before 2016. Dozier and Santana increased their value and could bring back pieces of the next contending team. We'll get the number 1 pick in the draft which has a good chance of bringing in an impact player. Our young players and prospects are also another year closer to reaching their potential. It was really good to see Buxton finish the year strong as I was starting to worry about him. We're getting close to seeing our young pitchers on the mound and the only veteran with a bad contract blocking anyone is Phil Hughes. Not too bad. I could really see this team starting to make some waves in 2018.
  19. Damn, the Twins don't seem to have much luck when trading established players. Only one team in on Dozier this year. Nobody wanted Pluoffe last year. Even Santana didn't get that great of a return considering the player he was. Sure the Twins have caused a lot of their own problems (I don't know what deals they've turned down), but there have been things out of their control that have hurt them as well. I wouldn't trade for De Leon straight up under any circumstance. He's not a sure fire prospect and it's likely he won't get 10 WAR in his whole career. Dozier will get that in 2 years. Not to mention we'd get some kind of prospect if he leaves via free agency.
  20. I agree that using FIP as a way of measuring potential is a mistake. It's really only useful for explaining aberrations in a pitchers career. Honestly I'd say the upside of a league average starter is good for May. How many of the Twins pitchers were league average last year? He will not be the ace of the next contending team, but you need guys who can eat innings in a 162 game schedule. Better to give him the spot than guys who will not even be on the next contending team.
  21. It's hard to get excited about a 9th round draft pick out of college who is 25 and still in the minors, but Garver just keeps on improving. If he could become a mlb caliber starter that would be huge for the Twins. Otherwise we are going to have to use a high draft pick or spend a lot of money to get a catcher. With the pitching problems we have that is not ideal. Keep it up Mitch!
  22. Grossman had a .386 OBP with some power as a 26 year old for the Twins. I'm keeping him. I would definitely look at moving him to 1st or DH with some time as 4th outfielder though. Mauer should be looked at as a part time player, so lets not worry about getting him at bats. Vargas should get his shot there as well, so that locks up those positions. Sano gets his year at 3rd, so Plouffe is gone. Escobar is SS if we trade Dozier or back up for SS/3B. Walker will never hit in the Majors. He doesn't make the 40 man. Palka and Park get a spot, but I wouldn't count on either of them making contributions to the MLB team. Vielma and Garver should get a spot. As far as the rest of the bubble guys.. I'm not really worried about it. Yeah we need have enough catchers, but there's not really anyone I'm afraid of losing. Are teams really lining up to claim Zach Granite?
  23. It's important to remember that we are not going to be a contender next year. There's really no reason to let a guy like Lewis Thorpe go, so you can keep a mediocre reliever. I'd like to see another year from him to see what he has. I could probably put Landa, Rosario, and maybe Wimmers in that boat as well. The main concern should be keeping guys who could really help this team in 2 to 3 years.
  24. I'd have to agree. Sounds like a great prospect, but not exactly what you want with the first pick in the draft. He does have a year to improve though.
  25. I get the satire, but the thing Hoyer has is the confidence of Theo Epstein. That's a pretty strong recommendation in the baseball world. Falvey had a good interview and Terry Francona said he take's good notes. I couldn't be less impressed with this hire. What's worse is they are giving him a position above GM and he really hasn't earned either. We are giving Pohlad too much credit for just hiring someone outside the organization. Hopefully I'm wrong, but Falvey hardly seems like the guy who runs a championship team.
