  1. Let me add several thoughts on future starting pitchers. I agree with Stewart, Meyer, and Gibson. I would go with Eades and our first college starter drafted in 2014 also. I would include Berrios as the next up and Wimmers as a dark horse. Jim Callis at BA has May as a reliever, and I believe everything he says. Eades was the #2 starter at LSU for 2 years and is a hard thrower. I really like pitchers from top college programs and no college program is better than LSU. The 2014 draft is much stronger than the past 2. If the BPA to the Twins is a college starter, he should be available by 2016. Once again rikker49, great idea for a blog. I can't get myself to even think about what our starting rotation will look like in 2014. I'm hoping our scouts really like Tanaka in Japan, we have 100M, and everyone else is out of money. Go Twins!
  2. Hendriks,Tonkin, and Pinto are good enough for me. I don't believe Parmelee is being punished, nor did I buy the persistent argument he was being blocked. I wouldn't doubt the next time his name comes up he's DFA.
  3. Last I looked attendance was averaging 31,000. I friend just offered me his seats in LCF for September. I really enjoy going to Target Field and can't wait to see the auditions the remainder of the season.
  4. Good job on your first blog! It seems every day the future gets a little bit clearer, but congratulations on taking the first shot.
  5. Nothing a fan board enjoys more than a good firing. Ryan has been back in charge all of 21 months. If you subscribe to the Kansas City or Pittsburgh mode of rebuilding you are quite correct. If you embrace the Twins goal of avoiding a long rebuild, as practiced by Terry Ryan, as many on this board do and seemly more and more of the national media, you will see the wisdom of practicing patience. Early returns have the parade starting in 2015.
  6. Gibson and Hicks are locks.
  7. I hope May can help Rochester in the plays-off, if not it would be great to see him at Target Field.
  8. As Terry Ryan has said, this is a transition year. No idea how the last 40+ games are going to play out, but feel if the season started tomorrow, we would be in a much better position to compete. If the Twins were one of the many franchises with a gun to their head, they would have traded Sano and Buxton for major league ready starting pitching in an attempt to win as many games as possible this season. Completely agree with your comments on Dozier, Florimon, and Hicks. I would add Arcia, Gibson, Pressly, and Thielbar. I expect us to be close to .500 next season and adding Sano, Buxton, Rosario and Meyer during the year. The parade starts in 2015. The rebuild should allow us to dominate the Central as we have in the past. No idea if it goes beyond that, and realistically it probably hasn't been decided. That's the way I see it.
  9. I believe they will do it for both Sano and Buxton, and sooner rather than later. Supfin99, I liked your post back in June, but think the price will continue to rise.
  10. I would be surprised if Worley isn't a big part of our rotation next season. No doubt they would make the same deals today.
  11. Good point about playing between Sano and Rosario. I actually thought they would go with a great field/no hit SS last year. Wasn't expecting one this good. Good pick up by Ryan.
  12. Agree with you on Correia. I would trade any and all members of the bullpen for starting pitching prospects. So much of the future depends on accumulating pure numbers, and I don't see another opportunity until the 2014 draft. I sense the price for Perkins is rising almost daily and would be very happy with 2 starting pitching prospects in return. If not, wouldn't mind keeping a Gopher.
  13. Better chance of the Twins going undefeated than the Pohlads firing Terry Ryan.
  14. Good job Boone. I would have guessed Wong.
  15. Completely agree.
  16. I agree with you to the point that we do not know the names of 2 of our 2015 starters. Ryan has been here 18 months, which IMHO is a very short time to completely retool a starting pitching staff. My hope is to get one for Perkins, no idea where we find the other. I won't look past 2015.
  17. Good job! I would keep him after reading your article.
  18. I think Ryan will do the right thing and get us a starting pitcher, hopefully one who is major league ready. Plenty of innings to offer this season.
  19. At least you gave him 2 games. You have to admit Thielbar looks like a Cy Young candidate though.
  20. Our first pick in next year's draft should be a SS if at all possible.
  21. Those weren't 3 second round picks at best. Take another hard look at those 3.
  22. IMO it's a great situation for the Twins to be in. For the Twins to go where they want to go, they need to continuously stockpile top starting pitching prospects. I'm hoping the winning bidder gives us one now and a list of 3 or 4 to chose from later.
