  1. Anyone in the FO ever hear of Gonsalves? How about running out some more arms and pushing him back for no good reason? I am amazed at how the FO deals with our minor league players. By the way there is a LaMonte Wade who might be able to match what Field has done.
  2. Let's see what Gordon looks like. We have time left in this season and nothing better to do then test our minor league players. If Gordon fails Forsythe is fine for a one year.
  3. Santana is not coming back and pitchers in the minor leagues are not getting a chance. This FO really puzzles me. They are so ready to give scrapheap pickups a chance but not our own players who have work their way through the minors and put in their time.Gonsalves needs to get his turn
  4. Why is laMonte Wade in the minors and Field is in the majoy. Does the FO know what the minors are for? Last night I was St Louis and went to the Cardinals and Nationals game. Can you imagine the twins ever bringing up somebody that is 19 years old and letting them play? Or calling on their minors and experimenting with their own players the way the Cardinals were. I believe the players deserve a chance the team that science them and puts them in the minors.
  5. The FO reluctance to use our minors is my biggest criticism of them and it is a big criticism.
  6. Has Advocate formerly promotions I'd like to see kirilloff and get some major league at-bats in September. And I really am tired of seeing Gonsalves get left behind without a chance to show what he really has.
  7. I have never understood all the love for May. Yes he has good stuff no he has not blossomed in the major leagues yet. I know it's injury that has held him back but I want to see him longer before making a decision. I also really want to see some of the minor league relief pitchers get an opportunity. And I don't mean just one day up and then get sent back down.
  8. I don't know what Gonsalves needs to do. He has earned a promotion and all I could wonder is if he said something that offended are fo? There's no reason for him to stay in the minors without a good chance to show what he can do. This last year is one that should be used for testing our players for the future
  9. If Buxton is hot and the minors When September Comes then he should come up and try to have some success in the majors to build off. If he's struggling in the minors and takes September and the winter off. I'm not worried about when he's 28 I'm concerned about getting the best out of him for next year and the year after. It's up to the front office to handle contracts. What a Buxton who is healthy and having success in the majors is something we can build off in a positive way and something that I hope will provide him with a platform for future success. At this point nothing he's done in the majors other than his speed and Fielding it gives me hope that we are going to maximize his talent. So whatever we do let's push for the best he can be and not try to think about super twos and future contracts
  10. Lowlights - Gonsalves left in the minors while others with less resume come up. Morrison needing an injury to get him off the field when his BA should have been enough. Our one remaining big free agent - Reed, blowing up his chance to be the closer. Young bats exciting us in the minors, lots of retreads and old bats failing in the majors.
  11. So long Morrison. Sorry you did not produce for us, but I hope you move on to success. From a personal fans view I am pleased to see someone else take those at bats because you have already had enough plate appearances to replace the Mendoza line with the Morrison line. Still waiting for more of those prospects to get their chance in the BP. I think we have seen this week that Hildy and Reed are not closers. Is anyone else anxious for September call ups? I want to see some minor leaguers up here. Our team is just good enough to be mediocre, but there seems to be some potential for the future and I want to see more. Please FO - no more great finds, just spend some time checking out our own prospects.
  12. I believe Trevor Hildenberger did not have the right stuff either and numerous pitchers have made great careers without the overpowering stuff. He is succeeding and judgment can only be made when opportunity proves.
  13. NO - I am in disagreement with the premise. Build a base like the Astros did. Find out what our young players can do and then when they are ready fill in the holes and spend money. Spending now blocks development - that's what we did this year.
  14. There are a lot of questions and I have one that is probably not popular because you can read into my answer. Is this FO as good as they think they are? Do they really have a plan for promotions and prospect growth? Why are they enamored with cast offs from every other team? Can they overcome their love affair with their own selections and drop players like Morrison when the answer is obvious? Do they like our own prospects? And if so why don't they give our players a sense of timing for their arrival. No I am not a fan of theirs.
  15. If we are willing to give Kohl Stewart a start to see what he can do, we owe Gonsalves a chance to prove what he can do. Or else we can send him to Detroit so he can play with Hicks and Goodrum and let Gardy show us how to use the minor leaguers we do not want.
  16. Not sure I agree so I will continue to sweat for all of us.
  17. Free Gonsalves. If the rotation does not match up for this game - okay, but why isn't he here along with Romero. Has anyone noticed our record?
  18. What a game - this is Detroit we were playing, not Cleveland. But there is a lot to take away from this. If you noticed previous postings I have made - we blew it with Goodrum. Good for him for taking advantage of his opportunity. Santana is done, in every way. He is a FA, we are going nowhere and neither is he. The FO has shown a real reluctance to bring up Gonsalves - why? Put him in Santana's place since they are not going to give him Mejia's start. If we are willing to DFA Santana (I am) why do we not DFA Morrison? Why do we keep playing him? Did my eyes deceive me? I thought I saw Forsythe batting fourth. Nice to see Drake reduce his ERA to 7.13, Too bad we do not have any relief pitchers in the minors. Mauer has no power - we know that so his 354 slugging does not shock, but Morrison was hired for his power and his slugging is 368 even though he has 15 HR. CUT CUT CUT. I believe there has been talk about Rosario being a good fielder. He now has 8 errors. The next worst LFs have 3! Maybe there are more raindrops hitting the turf than we want to admit. If you check the most errors by RF you will find Grossman tied for fourth in errors considering how few games he is in the field that is a real accomplishment.
  19. I keep looking for the real prospects in the system to show up, but I must have missed something on my travels - who is Field in LF? Where did he come from and when?
  20. Why isn't Gonsalves going to MN? Looks like time for a few more movements upward for key players throughout the system.
  21. Not so sure. Good to see the analysis and the hope, but I was really expecting so much more this season.
  22. Interesting event. I am in MI and saw it announced in the Astros Mariners game. Good news. Please do not pick up any more loose arms - go with what is in the minors.
  23. I will take your optimism and keep my skepticism. Hope you are right. Rooker is too old to be continually put off as a future prospect.
  24. I have no argument with that, but I still think that we need a new paradigm for relievers. This just keeps developing - now with openers as well as closers and guaranteed daily relief pitcher use there has to be a better way of using them. We need systems - where are the stats boys?
  25. The way relief pitchers are used these days they need to put them on a rotation just like the starters. Get away from the over use. Even in the comments there is a call for Moya but he has been worked hard with lots of pitches. It is a tendency we all have which is why a team needs to start putting together a relief strategy.
