Because we're winding down into the All Star break, I thought today would be a good day to look back. With a quick Google Search, I came up with some stuff that will allow me to escape the rigors of putting together a real game thread and, instead, dine off the work of others, while taking credit for my complete lack of inspiration. Without further ado, here goes: 1687 Isaac Newton's great work PRINCIPIA published by Royal Society in England. Outlines his laws of motion and universal gravitation.
*How we got Launch angle, spin rate, WHIP and WHIP. 1904 NY Giants 18-game winning streak ends as Phillies win 6-5 in 10 innings at Huntington Park *I'm going to defer to Chief on this one. His knowledge of the event is probably contemporary, unlike mine. The Twins final stop, before taking a break, one that appears to be much needed, is Texas. It seems the Twins are doing a good job of catching teams on the upswing while they're currently running just a bit flat. Personally, I think these teams are catching fire just long enough to bother the Twins, then flame out, while the Twins will catch their breath and take the rest of the season by storm.
This team has been very good so far this year and I'm sticking with they'll continue to thrill and chill fans.
