  1. Notice I refrained from the ultimate heresy: National League Rules are Superior to American League Rules. I tried to avoid conflict by mentioning less controversial topics.
  2. What are warning points and how do I get them? If i were to start a caliber war, 9mm versus 45acp, or 556 versus 762..would that count? Are there instigator points? Glock versus 1911?
  3. Well, shoot, if the Twins keep on keepin' on, Cleveland will remain cellar dwellers. By the way, I'm going to take one for the team and tune into the White Sox Hawk broadcast once in a while and see if Hawk is sticking with his "good team bad baseball" line. You're welcome.
  4. I sincerely doubt the Twins will replace Plouffe with Sano unless Sano is the second coming of Gary Gaetti. Sano would have to be a huge upgrade. At this point, Sano may have a better bat, but, Sano probably is not as complete a player as Plouffe. Congratulations to Trevor for putting in the work to reach this point.
  5. No, that's his current ERA.....it was over 10..oops, never mind, his current ERA is 9.00
  6. Second year of the contract, sunk cost. What could be more serious than the Twins dumping someone who has a big contract because they're not producing? Okay, yeah, I'm a bit down on Mr. Nolasco. I don't have too many tears for Mr. Nolasco, though, because one year of his contract is more than I'll ever see in my lifetime. I admit, I'm somewhat tongue-in-cheek. Although I think I make somewhat of a point, in that I think it would show fans like us the Twins are committed to winning.
  7. I'll take the Twins seriously when they dump Nolasco.
  8. Rosario hits the first pitch he sees into the seats. Schaeffer, who was on life support a couple weeks go, gets an infield hit on a pitch that somehow magically slides under the glove of the pitcher, capping a 3 hit 2 rbi night. The Twins somehow manage to knock Chris Sale out of a game. Gibson is escaping trouble like Houdini escaped a straight jacket. My point being that Gibson is one data point on the lucky streak the Twins are enjoying right now.
  9. The Twins are winning without two of their very high priced free agent pitchers. (Nolasco hasn't done anything to impress) The bullpen seems to be able to put up a few zeroes all of a sudden. The bats seem not to care how many runs the starting pitching gives up, because they'll tag the opposing pitcher for even more. Where did these Twins come from?
  10. Greatest thing since sliced Wonder Bread.
  11. Twins are in contention at the trade deadline. Schaefer and Robinson are traded to a contender so Buxton and Hicks can take over outfield duties. Pelfrey moves to the pen and becomes a lights-out setup man. One of the arms in the system becomes the next Scott Erickson and replaces Pelfrey in the rotation. ...if you're going to dream, might as well go big..
  12. In looking at Santana in the context of the success of Plouffe and Dozier, it is a stark reminder of just how bare the minor league cupboard has been the last few years. The Twins currently have 3, possibly, 4 pieces of an excellent infield in place, after several years of scrambling to just attain mediocre. The pitching woes are being addressed through free agency but the problems in the outfield are now very apparent. This all makes it quite obvious the farm system just did not have the talent to keep the MLB club going at any position until recently.
  13. I don't think that was a fork, it was a cattle prod.
  14. I'm going to savor this moment of above .500 ball because I'm not expecting it to last. Since John brought playoffs, let's say by some miracle, the Twins are in contention at the trade deadline. Which uber prospect is traded and for whom?
  15. Finally figured out how to pull up the Chicago feed. Hawk is sticking with his "good team, bad baseball" line. For the most part, though, Hawk is vewy vewy quiet. hahahahaha
  16. Butt single? I wonder is Sanchez feels any better now?
  17. Dozier's range at Second Base is something else. And, according to MLB stats, Dozier is tied for #11 in runs scored with people like Batista, Cain and Ellsbury. Pretty elite company there.
  18. Tie game. Not to worry, Mr. Nolasco will take care of that problem.
  19. Cartoons reached their peak with Loony Toons. Although Tiny Toons was pretty good. Now, on to less serious subjects: The Twins. Nolasco dominated AA ball in his rehab start. Can Nolasco make the jump to MLB? Recent history says "no."
  20. I can cut the Twins some slack regarding the infield, because of Plouffe and Dozier. The outfield, though? Uggh.
  21. A couple of years ago, I cringed every time a ball was hit to Trevor Plouffe. Now, Plouffe is not only making the plays he should, but he's making a few very good plays. In other words, Plouffe has turned into a solid third base. A position the Twins have had trouble with for the last few years. Brian Dozier wasn't good at SS and was moved to Second Base, which had been another black hole for the Twins. Enough said. Escobar isn't the future and, based on the results of Dozier and Plouffe, maybe cut the organization some slack in regards to Santana.
  22. So, I turned on the Sox feed so I could maybe hear Hawk melt down..no Hawk. Bummer. Just some guy calmly and coolly discussing the Sox as they lose again. I wonder if Hawk got tossed from the booth? Or, I didn't have the right feed from MLB.
  23. Quick, the Twins are on a roll, we have to put a stop to this, let's activate Nolasco!
  24. I'm now looking forward to seeing Pelfrey pitch. I'm only interested in seeing Nolasco from the standpoint that one cannot avert the eyes even though you know it's going to be a train wreck.
  25. Wow, that was some pathetic outfield play by Eaton. I wonder if the Sox would like Schaefer?
