    Twice this year, the Twins have been involved in outstanding games during the regular season. That crazy game in PR against the Indians the Twins won in extras and now this game against the Angels. Yeah, the funk the team went into between then and now was maddening, but, this team is really looking good now. Should be fun going forward this year.

    I think Gibson was doing what he had to survive the Angels lineup. That lineup is potent and for Gibson to keep the Angels in check, especially after keeping the Yankees lineup in check tells me my guarded optimism starting the year wasn't unwarranted.

    I'm glad I missed that. Gubicza and company will be a nice change sort of. Mark, however, does tend to wear on one.

    What's really funny, though, is that Hrbek, I think it was Hrbek, came out a couple of years ago and said that Niekro wasn't using the emery board to scuff the baseballs. Niekro actually had a very small piece of sandpaper glued to the palm of his hand. Anyway, I think that's what I read. Could be wrong.
