  1. I don't think anyone could've predicted they'd be this bad, they look worse than any MLB team I can ever recall watching. The Hunter signing is on TR and the terrible bullpen is on TR. Pretty much everything else has to fall on Molitor, these guys look so unprepared and nonchalant about winning a ball game. Doesn't matter how much their down, you can always find Mauer having a friendly conversation with whoever is on 1B with a big smile on his face. They act like they expect to lose...no grit or heart on this team. Booo
  2. I thought the twins would lose the division but I thought they'd be an improved team. They look so bad that the season may be over in April. Maybe that's what it'll take for mgmt to finally look to their youth. If you're going to be terrible at least be young.
  3. I agree with platoon and feel many players body language suggests that their content collecting pay checks and playing for a nice guy organization that loses, Arcia at least looks like he has some fire in his belly and really wants to win. He needs polish but he's still pretty young and I kinda like his style.
  4. Interesting situation with Polanco, they can afford to let him simmer in the minors and pending how things work out either he or Dozier could be a really valuable trade chip.
  5. "not into the whole brevity thing" - El Duderino
  6. He was a couple years late on moving Hammer, they probably could've gotten something decent by trading Doumitt around that same time. Burton had value a couple years ago and was kept and Perkins will probably never bring in what he could've last year or a couple years ago had he been moved. Didn't sound like they could've gotten much for Suzuki last year but not sure signing him to an extension was wise. I guess that's mainly what I was referring to, except, dare I say Mauer. Along with not being worth $23M, it's like a double gut punch to pay him that salary through the prime of his carreer while the team consistently loses 90+ games. I also feel like they should move Plouffe this year since they have Escobar should Sano prove he's not ready, but maybe Plouffe is worth keeping around for a corner OF spot, but they have a bunch of high upside OFs that if they can get something decent for him a trade probably makes sense.
  7. The rebuild has been mismanaged and it's going to be another lame season because of it. I get keeping young kids down due to business decisions but I don't get why they've never cleaned house at the trading deadline or capitalized on players when their value has spiked due to the same business related decisions. Even if some of their veterans wouldn't reap a lot of value you can still replace them with youth that needs seasoning and pick up a veteran of the same caliber in the next offseason if you really need one around at that position. Maybe next year.
  8. Is 270/325/470ish too optimistic? I'll also put him at #2 in the ALC since the other DHs in the league are almost old enough to be his father. Martinez can still rake though.
  9. Ok, I looked at his minor league stats and he has done some decent things on the farm. He has not looked good in the MLB but maybe he is better than what I give him credit for.
  10. I get that Nunez is the most hated Twin on this forum but I can't get down w/ Eric Ferris being the answer. Nunez is rough but he's got more talent than Ferris and Hermann for that matter. IMO it's not very close either.
  11. Ya, I don't know what people see in Hermann. He's not good.
  12. I believe Brady Anderson is a member of the all steroids team so don't expect drastic changes from Schafer unless he starts busting out of his uni and sprouts hair out of his knuckles
  13. I don't think the Twins have much to gain by putting Santana in CF unless by some miracle they're like a dozen games above .500 after April and CF is their only week position. It doesn't matter what Santana can do in CF this year so much as what he can do at SS a couple years down the road and beyond. I'm all for Rosario bridging the CF gap and hope he gets a crack at CF before they'd resort to Santana.
  14. He's got some holes in his swing (most of them outside of the strike zone) that MLB pitching has exploited but soon enough he will be punishing them for their mistakes. 250/310/490 around 30 bombs give or take says the optimist in me.
  15. I can't even guess what Santana is going to do. His BABIP wasn't just crazy luck as he was lacing everything last year plus he has good speed (and some was luck). It's probably not sustainable but he's super athletic and it sounds like he works hard so hopefully he continues to be a total beast. I don't want to see him in CF as the team is at least a couple years away from contention so rather see him get polished up at SS and Rosario/Hicks hold down CF until Buxton.
  16. I don't know that Plouffe's ceiling is much higher than what he did last year, which is pretty good but if Sano can play 3B at the MLB level I would sell high on Plouffe in a heartbeat. Moustakas is the worst 3B in the division and the other 4 you could probably pick out of a hat, but Plouffe is the oldest.
  17. I have to think that many veterans on the roster are on their last leg w/ the team and if they don't produce they're gone and we can finally start the youth movement in full swing. If that's the case, no worries, if the new faces don't arrive early and often this season I'll probably be receiving some moderator's notes for my bashing of the organization.
  18. Fingers crossed for career years out of the entire starting 5.
  19. .255 20HR. The power seems to be legit and the glove is slick. He may be #1 though hard to argue with Kinsler
  20. Mauer still has a pretty high floor which is probably about where he was last year but I feel like his ceiling is plummeting and doubt his health improves as he ages despite moving to 1B. He probably finishes '15 somewhere between last year and his career norms and but he's probably played in his last all star game now that he's at 1B. I'd probably take any of the other 4 over him mainly because you might more than 120 games out them but that's not say Mauer is washed up by any means.
  21. Neither Hicks/Rosario are a ton better than Schaefer/Robinson at the moment so maybe not the worst decision to start w/ the veterans and replace them with whitchever youngster starts rolling in AAA when the vets prove they don't have it...? Funny that Pelfrey thinks the twins owe him something. Man up and throw out of the pen.
  22. Sure that'd be fine but do they have another OF that's worth rostering that wouldn't be better off developing and playing every day in the minors? I could really care less about Nunez but am surprised how strongly he's disliked on this forum since he's likely not going to play much and is better than most of the bench players the Twins have ran out there in recent memory.
  23. So are all the Nunez haters in the Chris Hermann for 25th man camp? The guys (Hermann) career OPS is worse than Pedro Florimon's, that's not the kind of "versatility" I'd want on my bench and you don't want your prospects sitting the bench either so why not Nunez?
