  1. Have you ever met a cat? They go by no one's rules. The first rule of cat fight club is the cat does whatever it d**m well wants to do while looking down at you with bored contempt.
  2. My community band made a diplomatic trip and played a concert in Northfield. I felt that greatly accelerated opening relations and re-establishing trade between the metro area and Rice County.
  3. It still surprises me that he could leave all this (hopefully MI will at least have a Herberger's) http://www.pitt.edu/~edm27/fargowinter.jpg
  4. This is going to be a major blow to the North Dakota tourist industry - losing one of their premier residents. I am excited we are actually playing someone different. It feels like we have played the same few teams over and over again this season. I would not mind going awhile without seeing the Tigers again.
  5. Not that I disagree with what he wrote, but isn't this about the 8000th piece Souhan has written on Mauer and/or Hunter (including one yesterday)? Plus this one seems esp. designed to generate a lot of rabid comments (which - to be fair is probably what the paper wants). One of my bigger issues with Souhan is that how he likes or dislikes a player personally seems to really play into his columns. It is only natural that this happens to some degree, but with Souhan it sometimes reaches the point of being unprofessional. I have heard him blast a player or gush over a player for reasons other than their play on the radio and then read an article where those personal feelings are not exactly suppressed later one too many times. There is sometimes a touch of a personal vendetta or a touch of favoritism in some of his articles. I do understand Torii is a great story right now and definitely worth some print in the paper (I was against the signing, but will happily eat crow if he remains consistent the entire year), I guess I probably have a lower Souhan tolerance threshold.
  6. I kind of like Corey. This might not have been a bad game to have been distracted by work.
  7. Someone suggested adding caramel and rum to something the other day. I am thinking that could be a universal suggested and added to anything.
  8. Remember last year when Dozier cut and sold his hair to buy sideburn clippers for Mauer not knowing at the same time Mauer shaved and sold his sideburns to buy a comb and hair gel for Dozier? I think that is partially what tanked the season.
  9. You think Provus would notice if the gorilla took his place in the broadcast booth for a few innings?
  10. Keith is not quite this lively or youthful looking.
  11. You are young and hip and have your pulse on what all the kids are watching?
  12. I am going to go out on a limb and say this is the first time there has been a picture of Mr. Bubbles, Mr. Clean, and a homicidal Mr. Whipple (you knew from those commercials he was this close to having a psychotic break) holding the head he just tore off of Mr. Hackett's body..
  13. Work in the picture of Mauer and Dozier hugging with Mr. Whipple, Mr. Bubbles, and Mr. Clean -- then it might get a little homoerotic (although a good clean homoerotic).
  14. Sweeps month - the news tries really hard to find controversial stories in May for setting ad rates, and in the this case (as in many cases) they might have been trying a bit too hard. They were talking about this on the radio today. For baseball games, they have so many other things going on, often the Anthem is no longer right before the game, so often the players are behind the scenes doing things to get ready for play, esp. in day games when they do not have as much prep time beforehand. That said, I heard Mauer texted Dennis Rodman to see if he can join him the next time he goes to see Kim Jong Un.
  15. Three games above .500 for the first time since 2010. The big difference from the last few years... BlainE Boyer - set-up man! http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Minnesota+Twins+Photo+Day+zBnrBDkAxxbl.jpg
  16. I am hoping there will be a number of accomplishments this season where we can since "since 2010". I am not exactly expecting a world series ring -- although I would take it -- but am hoping at the end of the year that this will clearly be the best season since we fell off the cliff after 2010.
  17. So with the Twins hitting more home runs at Target Field - does that mean the concrete has finally settled?
  18. I am sure she sees you wearing a cool leather jacket and believes you are able to start a juke box with a tap of your fist (or she sees you as Potsie).
  19. The show was quite steamy for its time - I think this poster was up in a lot of kid's bedrooms. Rare that you see this kind of raw sensuality on network TV. http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/images/reviews/190/1212542291_1.jpg
  20. I don't know how I did not see it before -- the Vulcan philosophy focusing on logic, suppression of emotions, and an intellectual maturity greatly permeates every thread.
  21. I do wonder from time to time if a couple of the people posting here might be from outer space...
  22. This was actually a scene that was cut out from Return of the Jedi. I think it is on one of the DVD extras. Not a good scene for multiple reasons - although probably better than 90% of Phantom Menace.
  23. Ewok jokes are only funny in their native Ewokian language -- their very dry humor does not translate well into English. There are some bad Ewok jokes however. http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll4/Salguod_photo/star-wars-ewok-mordor.jpg
  24. At least you have incorporated him into the thread. It is possible we acquire Drew before one of the trade deadlines, and in the first play-off game he helps Hughes pitch a perfect game and gets the walk off hit that wins the game.
  25. I am pretty sure he said he was going to the game in his Ewok costume.
