  1. There is a reason why Circus Boy is our official score updater (even when he is not here).
  2. I know it is more the talent on the field than spring training, but they have been talking about working on essentials there the last few years. I know they bring in some of the best baseball minds, but maybe there is something there they could be doing there to be mixing it up. Again, I know what they really would need to do is have more talented players...
  3. Is it possible the hand that was dealt is more like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/27/Joker_playing_cards.jpg
  4. It is amazing how people's expectations change. In Detroit people would have been satisfied with getting runners past second base. The Twins have been delivering that, and now you want wins. Are you people never satisfied?!
  5. Think of the end of Ghostbusters and what happened to the StayPuff Marshmallow Man - same result. You would have known that if you had actually studied for your time travel license exam.
  6. Damn - I just realized I actually need a rocket pack tonight to get to Minneapolis without that little thing called I 94. I guess I will have to guess which alternative route will be less messed up.
  7. Sorry Brian - the rumors and sightings have already started: Fargo, ND (WDAY Sports) - It wasn't Tuesdays with Morrie, it was a Wednesday with Gardy today at the Fargodome. http://www.wday.com/sites/default/files/styles/full_1000/public/fieldimages/38/0505/gardy.jpg?itok=mJZsSKNi
  8. (not to beat a dead horse but) As expected.
  9. I would think once they found out you were a senior moderator of Twins Daily they would respectfully listen to your authority, and be embarrassed they behaved poorly in front of someone of your position at an organization/webpage that they probably grudgingly admire.
  10. For the actual driving exam - you have to know how to change the oil on a Delorean - otherwise it is not that different than the regular driver's tests. The written portion does have more physics questions than the regular driving written test. I admit I had to retake that portion.
  11. That 70charger doesn't get convicted of tax fraud. (Don't forget to claim any TwinsDaily prizes/winnings and any compensation you have received from your postings).
  12. It is going to be 157-5. We are going to lose a couple the end of September when we start resting the starters to have them fresh for the play-offs. I hope that resting does not backfire with losing a bit of momentum. Milone will end up in a battle with one other pitcher for the Cy Young - luckily for us it will be Pelfry.
  13. I think I was about 4 or 5 when he had that 45 and the song was on the radio. I wondered who Chicago was and thought it was sad that she died. In retrospect, I might not have been that bright as a child - not quite as low as Strib IQ -- but I don't think there were discussions if I should start school early,
  14. My brother had the 45 of The Night Chicago Died -- it was all about the gang violence on the famous east side of Chicago. Hey -- this game is an offensive landslide --- 2!!!!!!!
  15. I'd like to think our IQ in general is double (at least) that of the strib - I would like to think we are at least in the double-digits.
  16. You know there are people commenting on the trib and other places who were saying similar things and not saying it as a joke and probably complaining his hit in the first was only a single.
  17. I suspect, at least for awhile, Mauer might have a few at bats where the pitcher is not going to worry about walking him for fear of who is batting behind him.
  18. That phrase might just fit for the Twins this year... http://www.snoopn4pnuts.com/images/products/flag2003ww.jpg
  19. I have not checked the box score for a few innings, is this now a save situation?
  20. OK -- after reaching bottom -- we are now on the way up. Good things from here on out -- although I now am making my predictions for the season a little less lofty. We are not going to win the division, but get the first wild card spot - and we will not sweep the World Series, but need six games to win it.
  21. Sad thing is I got a little excited when I read that.
  22. Any chance the rest of the season will be snowed out -- because otherwise I am not sure that is good news.
  23. Did the '88 Orioles have a really bad first series, then quickly right the ship, and destroy everyone the rest of the season - easily winning the world series?
  24. This guy looks like he would be good defensively in the outfield -- if he can hit above 250 - I say we get him out there. http://barkpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Puppy-Ball.jpg
  25. If your roommate dies because he was killed by a rabid TC bear then I think you also get free play-off tickets. You get to watch from the dug-out if it happens on TV and is somehow is tied into a bizarre kiss-cam tragedy.
