  1. In hindsight, signing a SS immediately after he'd had two contracts ripped up due to failed physicals might not have been a wise decision!
  2. A Napoleon complex of some fans is not a great reason for the Twins to have to make the playoffs. I can assure you, no one in New York will care if the Twins get in or miss out. Seeing as we all know there's essentially no chance they'd get past the ALDS.
  3. I want to watch the Twins aspire to be in the playoffs. Not just be good enough to be the 6th best team in a 15 team league which is all they tried to do this season.
  4. I think bullpens are less of a financial investment as they are a scouting and development issue. We brought in some budget arms and they all failed to even meet lowered expectations. Gonna be interesting to see what they cheap twins do with all of Brock Jax and Duran due for arbitration raises. Wouldn't be surprised to see Duran shopped.
  5. It is, but they were never as good as a +17 win team. The White Sox compete failure of a season and the Twins 12-1 record against them vastly inflated the Twins record. Even the 12 game win streak was a mirage, with half of those wins being against those lowly Sox.
  6. I'm a baseball fan first. Yesterday someone here said Elly De La Cruz wasn't very good defensively nor with the stick. That just level of ridiculous fandom is detrimental to the sport. The Guardians are a better team. And our 2-7 record and 7 game defecit show that. Complaining about injuries which frankly haven't been that bad, is just loser mentality, seeing as how Shane Bieber missed nearly the entirety of their season. In comparison, complaining that players that are consistently hurt got hurt again is just so lame.
  7. Thems the breaks as a professional athlete. He's got by far the worst WPA on the day so unfortunately he's the one that's gonna get the negative attention.
  8. Y'all are being such irrational homers. The Guardians have been by far the superior team this year and they did it without their second best player for all but one game.
  9. Keeping him in the game was 100% the correct move. Jax threw 4 pitches in the first 2/3 and the Twins went down 1-2-3 on 9 pitches.
  10. This playoff "chase" is just a reminder that mlb screwed up by expanding the playoffs. No one wants to watch the Twins or Tigers in the playoffs. We are a team that should be 5 games back, not 2 games back.
  11. To put that another way, a team that was 8 games below .500 three quarters through the season, and still 4 games below .500 against teams that aren't historically awful, is in playoff contention.
  12. But what if they played 4 innings the previous game?
  13. This level of homerism prevents you from appreciating great players when they're on a different team. There's not a single player in the entire Twins organization I wouldn't trade for De La Cruz, ignoring the ****** contract we're paying the cripple currently at SS.
  14. They just don't care. They're no better than the catcher that they cut. They all want to go home.
  15. Well he's gone 5+ in a majority of his starts. Again, I don't think he's great but no one is expecting him to be anything more than a #4
  16. Well you're being ridiculous. He'd pitch for 28 teams in the league.
  17. I've been a huge critic of the expanded playoffs and the Twins help explain why. Ain't nobody in the league wants to see the Twins limp into the playoffs. No one is intrigued by the race to be the 6th best team in a league. At least in the NL the WC is close top to bottom, you got 4 teams that could conceivably finish with the top wild card spot providing real drama instead of this phony manufactured BS.
  18. This isn't fair to Simeon. He's not an ace but he's worthy of being a starter. The failure was the team expecting 160 innings from him.
  19. Even if they do make the playoffs...I'm not taking time off work to watch this team.
  20. I've been a bit absent, why isn't our incredible trade acquisition Richards pitching? I heard great things about his change up!
  21. About a month ago I said I wouldn't be surprised to see the twins win 8 out of the next 20. I didn't realize I was being optimistic.
  22. Who'd have thought a team so expertly constructed as to rely on Manuel Margot and absolutely no pitching depth would fail down the stretch? No one could have seen this coming if we're being honest.
