That would be Kirby Puckett. That name should be no offense to Kirby Harmon Killebrew and right up there just a smidgen below that is a tie between Rodney Carew and Tony Oliva. Younger people are not aware that much of the names I just mentioned. Torii Hunter would be definitely well there's a lot of guys that we look up to. Some would probably say Joe Mauer good guy. Modern day player I'm partial to Justin Morneau because he reminds me of my own son who is 43 at the moment.

What's his name Roden Alan Roden? He hits way under 200. Some players were signed that always see potential but they haven't shown any potential even in the high matter League. The teams pitching minor league player of the year has it earned run average over four. Ranz trying to remember his name head of the metal League system or something for decades. He knew what he was doing I think. If you're going to have a low batting average you need to be able to hit a lot of home runs like the guy in Philadelphia Swarber not remembering his name well here but he did not get on base in the entire last three games of the season but he has the 50 home runs and well over 100 runs batted in Baton average something like 210. The twins have a team of Low batting average people with very little home run ability and this will get you nowhere. You can't have a pitching staff good enough to overcome that but if you do overcome that with Minnesota you looking at 30 million a year maybe 40 million a year so we are in a catch-22 situation. There's really nothing this organization can do about it. Before your number six is up they'll be gone and we will get good prospects for them too. It's a vicious cycle of mediocrity but like I've already said today pricing is beyond Hope For All major sports. I used to go to games I don't go to any major league sporting events ever anymore and the only way to fix this problem is for people to just simply not go you're being taken advantage of and everybody's laughing at you all the way to the bank. Just don't go we'll do without for a while and then it will come back with a much lower price range.

I couldn't have said that better having been a twins fan since 1965. I think it was 1976 when free agency started Kurt flood and the messersmith guy. That's what started the higher salaries and all the bidding wars for players and the prices of tickets exceeding the rate of inflation like an unimaginable figures. The person that I dislike in baseball is Bryce Harper. There's so much bad to say I won't say anything except when he got upset in the presence of the baseball commissioner thinking is going to be a request for a salary cap. When the players make more money than they could possibly use in a lifetime just in one season and they would get angry at a salary cap where do the fans get the money to go to these games to pay for it? With larger TV screens in the home I would pay more than the monthly fee is now to bring down prices in the stadiums and have a salary cap that can somehow allow for a box seat under $100. I live in Virginia and in 1987 the World Series I was offered a World Series ticket for $100. Can you imagine anything like that now? I turned it down thought it was too much money. I'll read twins news everyday of the year. I know it's a business the players are going to play for whoever pays them but there's a Mystique about putting on a twins uniform because of the credibility of the people that they would hire and draft and trade for like Harmon Killebrew Tony Oliva Rod Carew many people with Class Act type folks on and off the field. They've done that better than any other team then the fire sale. The most stunning thing I've ever heard of. That's because money is tight with ownership unlike some franchises that it doesn't matter and that has to change and until that changes the Minnesota Twins and some other organizations have no chance to win anything. So baseball May end next season maybe for the whole year but ownership has to hold their ground and the players must realize you can make a living for your family on the minimum wage of Major League Baseball.

Another comment on this is the pitching staff needs an earn running average of around 3.00 because going into the next season with the batting averages that this team has stealing bases is essential because the guys throwing the baseball know when they get on the mound they're going to lose some wins and all teams are going to lose some wins after a good pitching performance but this team loses more timely hitting is rarely there so go in the next season with the same bunch and you're going to have the same problem. These are great young men however but it's about results.

If Mr Falvey is true to his word then to give 2026 a real hopeful season then they would not even consider trading either of their two top pitchers because if they do there are no suitable Replacements on the roster with any history of success even though there's some guys on the roster like this last week of the Season that have pitched incredibly well but you can't base one game on how they will perform with no record of real success as of yet so if you want to accomplish that like you say Mr Falvey then you can't trade those guys then you have to replace the best half of the bullpen and that's not going to be totally cheap. Baseball doesn't work in such a way that everybody with potential can pop up to the Major Leagues and get the job done not everybody's going to make it so you got to trade for somebody that you need.

Clemmons is a great guy great teammate but barely hits 200 and so so defense so you have to go to one of your AAA guys see what they can do. Give fedco a chance before the season ends. Don't go throwing huge money out there it never works because this team can't afford to keep it. Housing has tripled in the last 10 years baseball money has done much much worse it has to stop. That is why there needs to be a salary cap that is reasonable in the players can make a huge living with that but they will strike because they are enormously greedy and don't care what the public has to pay to see them play. And that's why the stadiums should boycott the beginning of next season don't come out don't do it until they give in to a more reasonable pricing.

People ownership is behind over 400 mil!! How do you buy players commanding 20 pkus mil a season then? Why do players in all sports require such monies? Because many team owners egos will give up money in their greed to win. I hate to win that way but rather win with good drafting and trades which Falvey has done poorly. This buy to win causes incredible money to see a game. I will no longer do it and over 90% of the fans can even go.

Again anybody how to become a member to do replies here. I have an email l r j o h n s o n 1952 30@yahoo.com. speaking to one tiny part what teams need is relief pitchers like Louie with 5 years of control. How many outfielders does this team have? Yes it would be nice if they all did 30 home runs and 100 runs batted in and I don't think the person they acquired is going to do that. Trying to remember the guy's name saw him pitch during the rains away Kendry? All his pictures cross the plate like they're all fastballs he's getting beat up and he has no movement he looks big and tall and great on the mound it's not going to make it. The ultimate goal we had with Louie and to see a professional GM full of a trick like that just horrible thinking. A twins fan since 1964 here I don't usually talk down. Salaries are we all crazy we're talking super millions of dollars even at 48 million do any of us make 25% of that? Why should a person playing a ball game realize money like that keeping the fans having to take over the prices to see a game. The New York Yankees have a ticket for $5,000 one game. These boys are not God's ladies and gentlemen. All teams should decrease their ticket prices by 90%, so people with small money can actually see a game and you might sell ice a place all the time and the players that make $10 million dollars will easily play for 1 million. Boycott the game like I do now all teams until things can become reasonable. Players move from Team to team constantly because of money that's so unnecessary to waste.

Just a money comment. Bryce Harper was angry at the commissioner if increased income doesn't happen at the next negotiation. This guy is low level and has been all his life to begin with. He gets 30 million dollars a year and we're crying over players making several million dollars a year that they should make more. How do they get paid? TV Revenue that's a fair price. Do you know that the New York Yankees have a single game ticket that cost $5,000? Do you think things are getting out of hand if you want these new Associates with the poll ads to throw money into this there has to be a profit and these crazy $300 a seat tickets at Target Field is going to have to go up so how much do you want to pay to see a ball game and Minneapolis doesn't have the people in New York does. It is sickening the pricing players make. They would work for 80% less if that was the going rate and we don't want to promote from within anymore we want to go out and buy people that's not a fun way to win a ball game. We drafted this guy or we traded for this guy and we win with this guy that gives you the feeling of accomplishment not opening your pocketbook. But the Louie trade my God if they had just not done that one. It's a bad trade I watched the guy pitch for the Saints he that he has no movement on his pictures that are major league player can't hit and probably never will. 5 years left with Louie and he has accomplished for the ownership what we want a player to accomplish why go pick up somebody else to start over? It's just a game and I've been behind this team for 60 years following them every step of the way good or bad but I'm not willing to go to a game anymore because of the pricing it's unreal and the people in New York are complete fools money they throw there. Boycott is what needs to be done and that's what all this is leading to. If we have the sense to do it.

This gentleman wrote correctly. You don't want to have people stop coming because you traded one of their most popular players you know it's supposed to be just about money right? Mr varland put people in a stands. He also has found his niche as a relief picture because he wasn't likely to make it as a starter but he put his heart into it he was so dedicated to wanting to do well for his hometown. Now I see he blew a save in Toronto. I have been a follower of the Minnesota Twins religiously since 1965. Yes we lost these trades look at what Oakland received and returned for Watson versus what we received in return for Duran. I think these other general managers new they could get away with it with Mr Falvey. If they had just stopped Trading before Mr varland was traded this would be almost tolerable because at least you'd have somebody to close the game with. That would make the twins have a chance in the remaining games that's what a big deal your closer is. Only about 15 maybe 20% of the top 100 ever play Major League Baseball so just because you got two for a fantastic Major League player makes no sense you got what you wanted out of that top 100 player or your Triple A player they made it for you the reason why you paid them money of which Mr Varland just makes about minimum wage. And five more years words can't describe what stupid this was. The other general managers are shaking their heads probably for the next year. I tell you what if I was Mr Falvey I would not show my face at the winter meetings it would be so embarrassing. Somehow they have defeated Detroit two out of three. So they're out there picking up available players when Louie was already there doing the job for the least amount of money stupid and MLB television this is the time where you can get more than they're worth from these competing teams well selfie didn't do that not one trade did he get more than the player was worth.

Seeing what the Oakland team received for their closer by comparison to what the twins received for Duran and Duran is twice as good as Miller. If we got all that for Duran then maybe okay but trying to build up these two guys is being superstars of the future for Duran just isn't going to happen. To look in the Dugout during the game and see so many different people it's just deflating for the players I mean they are making millions of dollars but they're still is a little bit of camaraderie and it's hard to have to see that many new people in The Dugout especially when they don't have the talent with what was sent away. Except for the Joe Ryan Deal don't try to trade with Tampa because you lose pretty much every time. Listening to Mr Falvey talk in the third inning tonight he's real good at making trades sound like it's a magnificent choice but it's not when you have a bona fide player like Varland who is finding his place you have received the benefit of what you have the player for as soon as he gets it going you decide to start over with a different player who already has the experience at the major league level of failure. How much more tweaking can this guy do to put him at a 2.02 era? You can't you already got your man you don't replace that with a mediocre pitcher. Not everything about Thursday was bad but most of it we did not receive value for value and just utterly destroying the back end of the bullpen. Let's talk of money. 95% of the public cannot afford a major league baseball game. The prices have gone up like football who only have 20 games a season. Most Americans have to budget and don't have such money yet the players some of them are enormously greedy but some of them would play for more reasonable money. The current fan base is upset that more money isn't spent for players. You don't want to win baseball by buying your team you want to win in baseball by making good trades and good drafts. When I read about the twins are cheap will Tampa is cheap the twins are paying what is it $132 million for their team! That's crazy money one player can make 70 million dollars now and Carlos Correa think it's 37 million this season. Derek Jeter was quoted as saying what do you think about baseball on David Letterman he said crazy money and he was making 15 million. He could easily make double that now and that's where the rub is this has to stop and I've been saying that for 40 years but somehow the stupid public will keep paying bigger and bigger money. It needs to be boycotted entirely nobody bought a ticket nobody pay for the season on TV just stop doing it but when the player contracts come up again they're going to strike because evidently millions of dollars every season isn't enough and it comes out of your pocket. Is it really worth this kind of money? It can easily cost $1,000 for family of four to go to a baseball game. That's ludicrous. They have us by our butt sporting events and we let him have it. Our boycott the stadiums now. I won't go to a game but I am still buying it by the month on TV where they blacked me out of two teams. Think about what we're doing with these conversations about money. How do you think the Dodgers won the World Series with their head with their brain no with their money.

We traded Duran, the number one closer available, for a 18-year-old catcher with potential and a way above average minor league starting pitcher who is not cutting the mustard at the major league level. At this point if he did make it we're looking at a number three number four or number five starter for the best clothes are out there had only 27 years old! What this says is a salary dump to do such a stupid thing because it doesn't match and Dombrowski in Philadelphia is a very smart GM. Our GM knows better than to do what he's done but it wasn't his call. Ownership only is going to spend so much money because that's an A+ for Philadelphia a D minus move for the twins. We've done this before where we gave up our center fielder for a single a pitcher and then the next starting center field was traded for a single a pitcher. You cannot compare a single a player at the catching position to become anything close to what a top closer is. It's enormously frustrating to see what was gotten out of this trade. You don't get Paddock pitching like that very often but it's a sight to see when you do oh well he's doing really good right now I guess I'll go see them on the bench! I don't mean to be like that but what kind of Reason could you have had Mr manager? Roberts didn't mind leaving his just back from injury picture in the game. Trevor Plouff did also say that is a strike. We can complain all we want about this and that about that game but we won that game. The umpires lost that game. Soon as he made that swing Way Beyond home plate the game was over but the Dodgers do not acknowledge that. They don't say anything about it after the game.
