  1. And another GIDP for the Twins, this time by Span. Ugh.
  2. Carroll has to be in the league leaders in walks, because it seems like he draws at least one every game and drew one now
  3. Butera gets out again...on a groundout; Twins need to start capitalizing on opportunities more, especially with their start to the second inning
  4. Hunter GIDP again...He wasn't THAT bad when he was with the Twins
  5. Unusual...E3 by Mauer; not good when your 1b makes a throwing error to let another run come in. No luck for the Twins
  6. 2nd blood also goes to the Angels with a single from Pujols to score Trout
  7. And first blood goes to the Angels with a double from Trout to score Eybar; Here we go again...
  8. Twins waste even more chances to score as Komatsu GIDP
  9. Valencia is seriously struggling as he flies out to Hunter... have the Twins tried to do anything to help him out of his slump, or are they waiting for him to get bad enough so that they send him down to the minors and bring someone else up?
  10. Good start to B2; Willingham doubles and Doumit walks
  11. Just as he did so many times when he was with the Twins, Hunter GIDP LOL
  12. No 3 run start tonite; going to need to start scoring more runs in order to keep winning
  13. Drew isn't out of options, but this is his final option year, because he has been sent down to AAA and called back up, so his arbitration status starts next year :|-
  14. 1-2-3 for Pavs; good start getting Pujols out (not that people are having problems with that anyway)
  15. Only b/c of Pavano pitching...1st K of game for Pavs on first batter.
  16. I think that Capps and Liriano go before Span because everyone can use average pitchers out of the bullpen and a back-of-the-rotation starter as a backup, and the Twins right now need to have a good lead-off hitter and table setter.
  17. Surprised that you only had one hope attached to the bullpen, which was the weak spot last year...
  18. Yes, but at least one of the minor deals that they worked as been good so far, as Burton has established himself as an above-average RHRP. I am assuming that the $3 million you are talking about was spent signing the bullpen guys, because I believe that Marquis got a 1 yr., $6 million deal, unless you are saying that the move only half upgraded the Twins staff
  19. Mr. Ed, how is Dozier defensively? I have heard more about his breakout as a hitter than being good or bad in the field. Is he an upgrade over Carroll-Casilla when combined with Carroll?
  20. I have a feeling that one of the first six Twins hitters will spoil Weaver's chance for a second no-hitter.
  21. I am just glad that they are keeping Carroll's glove in the lineup, despite the fact that Casilla has about the same range and might even hit a little better and run a little faster. Last year, the Twins didn't have a great fielding MI combo with so many guys injured, but Carroll has done an excellent job of playing short and gaining camraderie and being a great double play duo with Casilla
  22. I think with the money coming off of the books with the SP's that are going to be free agents, and, honestly, SP being our position of need this year, I could see the Twins going for one or two FA SP's, because they're bullpen isn't as bad as it was with Duensing, Perkins, Burton, Guerra (if he gets called up and continues the success he has had at AAA), and Capps (he has been improving and has done a fairly good job so far this year). Their outfield and infield are fairly set, so they really only need money to maybe resign Casilla on the infield if he keeps playing well and stays healthy. We also don't have to pay for Doumit or Marquis after this year, either. Also, with how many FA relievers there are, the Twins could spend a million or three and sign several proven veterans. Totally new idea. With some of the rest of this money, is there any chance the Twins use some of it to try and sign Mike Napoli as an insurance policy as a 1b/C doubler?
  23. With the call-up of Dozier, what are the chances that the Twins start dividing Valencia's playing time with Carroll? And, if Valencia's playing time isn't affected, what does that do to Carroll's playing time?
  24. With the Twins deciding to keep 13 pitchers and with Maloney's current struggles, would it make sense for the Twins to send him through waivers and bring up Guerra, who is pitching the best he has in like his entire career? I also liked Danny when he arrived, but if the Twins can have Sano keep his weight down and improve his fielding, Sano actually might be our next solution at 3rd base.
  25. I see the Twins aren't wasting any time in seeing what they have with Komatsu
