  1. Like several people have been saying, there is still a good chance for the Twins to grab some high-end (or as high-end as you can get in this draft) pitching prospects, including Mitch Brown, who I thought would be gone by now (as he is #51 on the list of Top 100 Prospects). Other high-number "pitching prospects" (not counting Brown) that are still around for now are Hunter Virant (No. 47), Chris Beck (No. 52), and Nolan Sanburn (No. 44). I think all of these guys should be given serious consideration by the Twins, unless someone has seen something different recently to say otherwise.
  2. With the Twins taking outfielder Byron Buxton with the #2 overall pick yesterday, the take I took from that is that Span is not long for this team, and that the Twins wanted to draft an outfielder that could take over for him after a few years of Revere in center. By all means, I am not saying that Span isn't a good player or not worth the Twins keeping to build around. But when you are in the stages of rebuilding, you trade away your good players to get good prospects for the future. With my prediction of this meaning that Span will be traded within the next few years, who should the Twins be looking to get a good deal from? In other words, who has the farm system necessary, as well as the need for a solid center fielder, for the Twins to be interested in trading Span to?
  3. That is what I was telling my friends earlier today, that the Twins probably picked him with the intention of keeping Revere and dealing Span when people are desperate for a solid center fielder and willing to give up a solid pitching prospect or two. This would allow the Twins to shift Revere to center, keep Willingham in left, and probably give Plouffe more playing time in right.
  4. So does this mean that DeVries's day's in the Majors are coming to an end with the improvements that Hendriks has made?

  6. With the current amount of relief pitching the Twins now have in their system, I was not sorry to see Mijares go. If the Twins would have kept him around, maybe they wouldn't have gone after Burton, who has been as good if not better than Mijares this season. Also, the Twins still have guys like Slama and Guerra in their system who have a much higher upside than Mr. McChunkes.
  7. Are the Twins hoping that Mitch Brown slips to them in the second round, or are we seeing them liking him where they actually might not?
  8. I totally called this one. And from what I heard, he didn't do too badly in his last start before it was cut short by rain.
  9. We also have Blackie coming back from the DL, but how effective HE will be isn't clear yet.
  10. My order for the Twins to draft would be 1)Gausman 2) Buxton 3) Some guy that none of us have heard of
  11. I actually made the same comparison of Radke to Diamond earlier today
  12. If the Twins do take Buxton, I would assume that they would be thinking that they would try to sell one or more of their minor league outfielders to get pitching or that they are hoping they get lucky with who is left over in the compensation rounds.
  13. Diamond has been doing well enough to be the equivalent of Brad Radke for this season. By this I mean the guy who isn't overpowering, but he does well when he keeps the ball down and throws lots of strikes, which the Twins sorely need.
  14. You got the scores for Ft. Myers and Dayton switched. Dayton won 16-7, not Ft. Myers.
  15. From all the discussions so far, I would say my pick for the Twins would be Correa, Buxton, or Gausman, even though I really think that Gausman should be first on the Twins list because of their complete and utter lack of starting pitching depth in the minors.
  16. That might be his excuse; or the fact that he can only throw 88 mph
  17. I think Hollimon beats out Florimon because Hollimon actually has power and is increasing his fielding ability whereas Florimon really doesn't have any power potential.
  18. Michael would really have to start raking the ball, because I believe he is hitting something like .205 in Single-A. Rosterman, while those guys that you have in the starting rotation are guys from our system, I think that the Twins will have gotten at least one FA pitcher from another organization (not that I believe that the Twins won't have most of those guys in their rotation). Could someone enlighten me as to who Hirschfield is?
  19. With the Twins having signed Carroll to a fairly small deal over the winter, and the current injury problems of his former team, the Dodgers (seriously, the team right now has about as many injuries as any given day in August last year for the Twins) have been said to be looking for help. Any chance the Twins try to take advantage of this need eventually (because right now Valencia isn't ready to return so they would be on shaky ground with the personnel in the infield)?
  20. And Liriano goes 1,2,3 in the 4th; he seems to be doing well :|
  21. And Ross gets out of the inning; Only the Twins
  22. And Willingham strikes out and Revere caught stealing 3rd.....2 down
  23. ross is getting into trouble; Revere on 2, Mauer on 1 with a walk
  24. Good job Revere! Used the speed to single then steal 2nd Base! they had better watch out for him.

    Potential

Totally with you on seeing the potential with this team if they could just get their starters together.
