  1. I agree with both twinsnorth and noko with their points about Gardy and accountability. Gardy has been trying most of this year to get his guys on track, but they just keep struggling. I also like these recent moves, because Valencia has been struggling a lot and Maloney hasn't been doing much to help the team win ballgames. it seems as though what Gardy and Ryan said earlier this year about the "scholarship" program is being entirely acted out right now.
  2. I have to disagree; he has been working really hard at getting better at fielding, but improving your fielding isn't the kind of thing that you work on in the Majors, you work on it in AAA. Valencia just needs to spend some time down in AAA with a different hitting and fielding coach that might see something in his swing and the way he fields that Vavra isn't seeing up in the Bigs.
  3. This is interesting...what are the chances that Maloney is claimed by another team? And I think that Carroll will be moved to 3b. As I am from Eden Prairie, I am interested in how long it will be before the Twins call up EP native Cole DeVries, because I think that he is the 3rd pitcher down in AAA behind Diamond and Walters.
  4. Anybody else tired of seeing the Angels yet?
  5. Explain to this youngster who the Washington Generals are?
  6. Top 3 guys in our lineup today: 0-9, 1 K and 3 LOB. Then as I am writing that, Willingham slugs a HR to left; DOPE!
  7. Burnett then gives up a single to Trout that scores Kendrick. Certain guys in the bullpen are going to have to perform better if they don't want to be sent down to the minors or sent through waivers, esp. Maloney and Swarzak
  8. Burnett was almost out of his jam, having induced two flyouts, then gave up a single to Wilson.
  9. We probably should have expected it, with him possibly still being a little shaken after crashing into the wall to catch a fly ball.
  10. Span goes 0-3. Not good for a lead-off hitter with his team down 5-1 and with a runner on 3rd.
  11. Going off of glunn's comment, have people started looking at who we might be drafting in 2013 with our (almost certain) #1 pick?
  12. Has Gardy determined whether or not Komatsu has the wheels to steal bases, and will he take advantage of it now he is on 1b with a walk?
  13. Twins finally score a run, but it comes at the cost of Danny Valencia getting out again
  14. Wow, Doumit must have some wheels if he is hitting triples
  15. Another run scores, but at least Pujols was erased from the basepaths
  16. Since when is Burnett a long-relief pitcher? Because usually when a SP goes out in the 5th inning, the team goes to a long reliever to take care of 2+ innings.
  17. Pavano gives up another run. We knew what we were getting when we re-signed him: A guy who gives up 16 more runs than we can score, and still manages to work 6+ innings in the process.
  18. This game is really moving along. We are in T5; and it has only been an hour since the game started.
  19. Twins go 1-2-3 with 3 groundouts in the B4th; seeing another low-hit game for the Twins happening before my eyes.
  20. Update on Thome's current status with the Phillies: 18 AB's, 2 hits, 3 BB's, and a .111 average
  21. There have already been 4 DP's tonight, and Wilson on the Angels grounds into another one
  22. Also, most of the pitches that the Angels are getting hits off of Pavano on are right over the middle of the plate; he isn't locating very well tonight.
  23. With this start, Pavano is losing the last of his tradeablility w/him showing his ability to allow opposing hitters to get hits at a prodigious rate
