  1. Outman did his job and got into scoring position. Runner on 2nd with nobody out. Someone smell out an RBI!
  2. My only issue with Caratini would be that he would clog up the bases and be a station to station runner.
  3. This is where I hope that Keaschall is able to get to. He looks like he still can run into one, but he also looks like he has the skills to be a more consistent hitter than anyone they have had in leadoff so far this year.
  4. Let's assume that Jeffers will at least be shopped if not traded by the trade deadline. It makes sense that Jeffers would get a large majority of the starts as the Twins as teams that may want to trade for Jeffers want to make sure that he can actually handle the workload. As some others have opined, Caratini will get the majority of the starts if Jeffers is traded mid-season.
  5. My first concern would be the brain trust in developing prospects. We are seeing in real time the consequences of not adequately developing prospects in Lewis, Lee, Wallner, and Larnach. The two teams given as an example in the article, the Mariners and Brewers, have proven that they are better at developing high draft picks into viable major league players than the Twins. Top players from Mariners drafts since 2017: 2018: Logan Gilbert & Cal Raleigh, 2019: George Kirby, 2021: Harry Ford & Bryan Woo, Top players from Brewers drafts since 2017: 2018: Brice Turang, 2021 Sal Frelick, 2022 Jacob Misiorowski, 2023 Cooper Pratt Although not mentioned in the article, there are rumors that the Pirates are working on a similar contract for Konnor Griffin. Even the Pirates have had a better draft and development of players than the Twins. All of that to say that if you have a proven record of draft and development, the risk of locking up these young players may be worth it compared to a team like the Twins who does not have the same record of success
  6. The Twins are so dysfunctional that they can't even get sound to the postgame reaction from Shelton.
  7. That has been my thoughts ever since they signed him in the offseason.
  8. I have found the answer to all of the struggles of Keaschall, Lee, and Outman! I finally paid attention to the stupid Carshield commercial and they are all in dugout answering the phones for Carshield instead of focusing on the game!
  9. At least the Twins are making the Royals warm up their high leverage arms.
  10. Has someone tried handing Outman a Where's Waldo? Maybe he can focus on that, and it will help him find the ball?
  11. He likely will. It's looking like he is being left out there to die on the mound.
  12. They have been having Altavilla go back-to-back games already in St. Paul so it seems they are ramping him up to join the big-league club.
  13. I know that a position player can come in now, but I hope Shelton does not want this game to drag out any longer than it already will by putting in the position player.
  14. An official game! Alright boys, pack it in and try again tomorrow!
  15. There has been better fielding with the beer league softball team that I used to belong to and half of our roster was 30 years or older.
  16. It's looking increasingly likely that the game will be official before the heavy rains show up.
  17. That may have been the rare occasion where Ryan should have taken charge. Apparently, he was the only one who seen the ball.
  18. 59 pitches in 2 2/3 IP? Can't see Ryan going past 4 innings, especially in the inclement weather.
  19. Here's a hint. If you hear a splash, you can quit chasing the ball as it went into the fountains.
  20. Unfortunately, you have to blame that one on Wallner as well. Jeffers may have challenged it if he had both challenges available. The fact that there was only one left. It was too close to risk not being right.
  21. Slightly off topic but I was listening to Foul Territory yesterday and they interviewed Cowboy Joe West about the ABS, and he actually made a good point. From what I know, the ABS only measures the strike zone at the middle of the plate. A ball could clip the strike zone at the front of the plate before falling out of the strike zone or a ball could fall into the strike zone near the back of the plate and neither would be called a strike using ABS.
  22. He must have been the only player in MLB that didn't magically get shorter when they measured everyone for the ABS.
  23. I don't mind Wallner being wrong. I care more that Wallner is not making good choices on when to challenge. Top of the 1st inning with 2 outs? Let it go unless you are 100% you are going to win it.
  24. What you're saying is that I can start posting my favorite comment from last year again? The ghost of Jamie Moyer could still come back and carve up this lineup at least one time through the order!
