  1. I didn't mind Shelton leaving Preilipp out there to complete the 5th. The 5th inning was not his fault. Even if you had a plan to get Groover in the 6th before replacing him could be understandable to let Preilipp finish on a high note. There was no reason to go beyond that and let him face the lineup for the 4th time. They don't even have Joe Ryan do that normally, much less Prielipp.
  2. It will be interesting to listen to the postgame interview with Shelton on why he left Preilipp out there to die on the crabgrass in the 6th inning. I'm scared of the Twins bullpen as well, but you have to still make moves to try to win the game. You were only down 2 with AZ in a bullpen game.
  3. Again. Please keep politics out of the thread. Thank you.
  4. I'm a bit surprised by Shelton's willingness to keep Preilipp into the 6th inning though. The 5th inning wasn't Preilipp's fault, but that should have been it for him.
  5. @krink Is it safe to bring this back yet for the updated Twins game?
  6. Bad luck for Preilipp. Can't expect him to continue to fight when you give the other team 6 outs in one inning.
  7. We have baby steps with Lewis. He is making contact tonight. No strikeouts yet.
  8. You know my two themes for the Twins season are: Or this one:
  9. Preilipp hasn't had that meltdown inning yet. He's went 4 with only 56 pitches. Tidy so far.
  10. Story is a bit misleading. When season ticket holders attend a game, they get a 15% credit (20% if they win), per game ticket, towards season tickets towards next year's season tickets with a cap of $2,000. Although they started this just now, they are going back retroactively and crediting season ticket holders who attended games earlier this season.
  11. There is a story I need to follow up on that the Twins are allegedly paying fans to attend games? I don't live near the cities, but I would think some fans on here that do would be interested in hearing that.
  12. Hopefully everything continues coming up Twins. Cleveland down 6-3 to the Houston Trash Cans. Detroit already beat the White Sox. Blue Jays lost. Everyone we are chasing is losing or lost.
  13. Never would have guessed that the Twins could line up to have the better bullpen by the end of the weekend. This injury to Soroka plus Nelson going down and won't be able to go on Sunday.
  14. Someone on Apple TV will have to tell me what happened with Buxton. Cory said that he was caught at the plate admiring his hit and then tried to turn on the jets when it didn't go out.
  15. I'll be curious if Cory is still moonlighting as the Twins radio man tonight as that is how I will be consuming the game. No Fruity TV for me.
  16. I hope Gray does well tonight as it is getting hard to see his name continue to get penciled in the lineup. His fielding has diminished over the last month and his hitting was never stellar. Playing Kreidler every day until he cools off would be a better play.
  17. I'm not sure there is an actual Vegas bet on it. My personal bet would suggest 3.5 as your line.
  18. Great post @DocBauer! I want to flesh out a little more on a couple of your points. Banda would be an arm I could see the Twins try to keep around. The Twins have shown a willingness to keep bullpen arms they consider cheap, see Topa last offseason. Finding any kind of effective LH RP seems to be hard to find. Even if you believe that Rojas will come back, I think you should have two good lefties in the bullpen. Rojas may need some work in St Paul though has his first rehab appearance didn't go well last night. Hopefully, one of Rojas or Funderburk will step up so we shouldn't have to resign Rogers. He has been a good teammate, but he just seems to be done. Gomez is an interesting thought exercise. You want to keep him since he has been the only consistent reliever we have had in our bullpen this season. His overall body of work suggests that you may need to trade him while you can still get something for him. If he keeps it up, someone will overpay for him. Heck, we traded for Trevor Richards before so anything is possible. I don't see a huge payday for him, but if you can get a high A or AA flyer, that would be a decent return for someone you claimed off the waiver wire. I agree with you about Clemens. I think he is one of those players you keep. IMO, he is a better version of Kyle Farmer. Speaking of Farmer, the Twins brought him back for $6.3M. Clemens won't bring nearly that much in arbitration. He should be worth the price for a solid player that can plug and play nearly anywhere. Clemens has taken the Willi Castro role and forced himself into the lineup every day and I'm not sure he brings back anything of real value in a trade. Hopefully, he can keep the young guys motivated as they know that Clemens is behind them ready to take their job if they falter. I think you can have two utility bench players if you pair him with Kreidler, who can play SS and CF as we will always need a CF option to play when Buxton gets a day off from the field.
  19. This is what many of the other smart teams have done in similar situations. The Rays once sold off in a similar situation to us in the standings. There have been Cleveland and Milwaukee teams where they have sold off expiring pieces and picked up some decent prospects and didn't miss a beat on their march to the playoffs. This is not the Twins year to go all in so every move needs to be made for the future. Sometimes that means holding onto a person if you don't get the haul you want. I don't think we will get the value for players like Larnach or Clemens that they mean to this team while we are waiting for other players to come up.
  20. Game finished just in time to turn into Saints baseball. If you follow their social media pages, they announced that the Saints defeated the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man yesterday but had a lot of cleanup to do before today's double-header.
  21. It's time to deploy the official song of the Twins bullpen.
  22. Hopefully that is just the Cowboys completing their field goal before finishing the game.
  23. A couple notes in one post. I don't care who the Yankees are playing. I refuse to root for them, even if it could help us. At the beginning of the inning, they announced that Orze came out to Van Halen. This reminded me of the song that should be playing when Lawrence comes out of the bullpen: Mas Tequila by Sammy Hagar because we all need lots of it to get through the Lawrence pitching expedition.
  24. Aren't you the President of the Kreidler fan club? Why aren't you promoting your mega-church?
  25. It was either that one or this one when they announced Lawrence was coming in the game:
