  1. With the lengthy delay, we will now have to see how long Sim will go. Prior to the rain delay, I would have guessed he would piggyback off of Rojas and try get through the 7th.
  2. I'll save everyone the wondering. They pulled a Twins and didn't score.
  3. I guess having Gomez come in 3 games in a row is too much. Garcia is our freshest reliever left in the pen. Let's hope we don't need that insurance run.
  4. I would agree. The pitcher knew he could throw that pitch so high that it would land in St Louis Park and Lewis would still swing at it. It is getting to the point that this is a manager problem as much as a Lewis problem.
  5. Bradley went 1 2/3 and 42 pitches giving up 1 run, 2 BB, 2 H, and 3K. I would suggest that he will need at least one or two more rehab starts to build his arm back up.
  6. I agree that anytime you can get at least a serviceable starting arm for a reliever it's a victory. Before the injury, Bradley was definitely trending towards being a better than serviceable starter. On a separate note, the Rays are working on turning Jax back into a starter. He has made 4 starts this season and getting farther into the game each time with his last start going 5 innings.
  7. I look at that infield single in the 1st. I think if Royce was going right, he makes that play where there was little chance that Lee could make it in any case. It does appear, that like Wallner did, he is taking his struggles at the plate out to the field as well.
  8. I am hoping that if/when they decide to send Lewis down, they will also instruct him to pick up a 1B glove and take some reps over there. Provided Culpepper sticks, that will likely be his one spot to stay on the team and maybe develop a little more trade value as he can play multiple positions if the Twins do end up writing him off.
  9. I know it has been tough with the bats this weekend. The bullpen has done their job this weekend. The starters have done their job. Coming into this series, I have expected the Brewers to bang balls off the Target Field walls like they did to us last season. The pitching has kept the Brewers in check for the most part. I can be disappointed in the results, but we have been in every game, and I'll take that as a small victory.
  10. You're right. They still did lose the next six games, but like you, I'm willing to take a chance it may work this time!
  11. Heard a story from Gladden on the radio earlier this week about, when the entire team was in a slump, they gathered all the bats together in the dugout, threw them in the dumpster, and lit them on fire. Not sure it worked, but I would say it's worth a try right about now.
  12. Cory talked about it with Molly. Molly said that it would be a tough play for the runner as you don't know if the ball is going to fall or not. Molitor may not be as critical about plays as Trevor Plouffe when he is on color, but he will point out things that he sees. The very next inning he said that Larnach should have called off Lee on the fly ball since Larnach's momentum would have carried him in with Chourio on 3rd.
  13. Ober has now thrown the last two complete games, both with 89 pitches in a game. May have to think about calling him the RH version of Jamie Moyer. Great to see another day with zeroes from the bullpen chart! Fun fact not related to today's game: Cal Raleigh finally breaks his 0-36 hitless streak tonight. His last hit - a homerun off of Andrew Morris.
  14. Looking at Pablo in the dugout, he almost looked happier than Ober about his accomplishment.
  15. Complete game shutout! Guess what? 89 pitches. Matches his last complete game!
  16. Now we get to see if Shelton and the staff learn the lessons from Rocco's perils. Last time we saw Ober in this situation, he was dealing against the Royals in a must win game in September 2024. Rocco takes him out after 83 pitches because he has to get to that bullpen. Bullpen coughs up 4 runs in the 8th and we lose the game.
  17. I would say that Bell at least put it in play and it was hit up the middle. Got to look at the positives.
  18. Last complete game thrown by a Twin was by Ober. 89 pitches in 2024 in Oakland.
  19. Do you think we can trade Bell to the LG Twins in Korea? Maybe he can find his K pop groove there?
  20. The Twins finally got Perez out of his groove! Great job by the Twins!
  21. Getting dangerous. Perez is in a groove. Who wants to be the sacrifice and try to bunt on base?
