I'm uncertain there is much that a hitting coach could do for Buxton. Maybe point out some things to him that he sees watching video. That's likely about it. He's not going to change Buxton's stance or bat grip or anything like that which he might with a younger player.

I like this move. Gives Roden an AB plus shores up the defense for the last 2 innings. Clemens likely moves to 2nd and Royce to 1st.

Prielipp is doing well. Only 51 pitches in 4 innings. Six innings a real possibility for him depending on where they think his pitch count is today.

I watch a YT channel called CloseCallSports. Lindsay has a series covering every MLB ejection during the season and the rules and reasoning behind each ejection. This was covered a couple of weeks ago. The pitcher has to declare prior to EVERY AB if he wants to use the windup if runners are on base. Sounds like he declared for Buxton, but did not do it for Jeffers, hence the balk.

Twins are not paying him. Contract went with him to Detroit I believe. Miranda was with the Padres AAA team but has since been released and not with any organization. Maybe he can be a special assistant to Lin Manuel?

He's a lefty and breathing. He will need time to get his arm built back up. Probably make his first start against the Twins when they go out to West Sacramento in late August.

News tidbit that just came out today. Lance McCullers was just DFA'd from Milwaukee right after they just traded for him. Not sure he is worth it, but he is a warm body and that would give a little bit more depth in starting pitching. Especially since I don't expect the Twins to go get the type of pitcher we need to make a serious stretch run.

Shelton did admit in his postgame interview that, had he known about the Ryan's day today, he would have started or got Jeffers into the game today.
