  1. Twins were not good at running or stopping the run in 2024. Do we have a player type? Seems like there is some speed in the minors so maybe better days ahead. In the short term it’s the basics. Getting doubled off, Ill advised waves home etc. Can we at least be smart on the bases and not give away outs?
  2. Young players can be a fickle thing. We had a great group in 23 that we were all excited about and look what happened to most of them in 2024.
  3. We finally have some good pitching and all we want to talk about is trading them away? I may feel differently about this given another year with some of the rookies but pitching was a big problem in 2024.
  4. Please don’t trade young controllable arms. No such thing as too much pitching as we proved in 2024.
  5. Lots of good young hitters with the Os. He already has relationships and has worked with some of our young guys. That seems like a plus. Os 16th with RISP and Twins were 18th so that doesn’t fit with what Falvey called out as far as situational hitting. I do like that he has experience as a hitting coach.
  6. Probably be too expensive for the Twins. Ryan O’hearn is a lefty but may be in the price range if the Os don’t pick up his option.
  7. Maybe we can sell a patch to 3M or General Mills and get a couple relievers?
  8. My thoughts are similar to others that I’ve read. Agree with what’s written in the article. Id add: RH power bat - we haven’t had this since Cruz was traded Mid rotation starter - let Festa and Zebby start at AAA
  9. I’m sure we’ll get more details. I don’t live in the red part of Iowa on the map. Does that mean I’m not in the market?
  10. The best ability is availability. Hopefully he keeps wearing his New Balance cleats.
  11. What do we have in Camargo? He was up a couple times but never behind the dish. Any Saints fans/followers out there?
  12. This is the biggest question in the off-season IMO. Infield defense and offense fell off a cliff in the 2nd half. Can these guys make adjustments, stay healthy, and rise to the occasion?
  13. Jax or Sands. Otherwise there is so much inconsistency and injury time that there aren’t a lot of standouts.
  14. Nice to see the Berrios trade starting to bear fruit.
  15. An owner for Joe the emulate? Can you imagine wanting a Joe Pohlad autograph🤣
  16. I’ve always liked Rocco and he wasn’t dealt a very good hand in 2024. Joe promised a better team in 2025 so we’ll see what that means. I like the use of statistics and that the FO has elevated the Twins in that area. There are a few situations in which I’d like to see them better utilized: early inning pinchhitting - pulling your best hitters (at the time) Wallner and Larnach in the 5th for Magoo and Martin when those lineup spots come up again the in the 8th or 9th. It has become too predictable and we often see opposing managers show a lefty to get one of our guys out of the game and then go back to a righty. use all of the data available - we don’t want our lefties to face a lefty ever. But what if that lefty has reverse splits? Manaea is a good example of this. He has a .738 OPS versus left-handers and a .585 OPS versus right handers. continued reliance on LH relievers when we didn’t have a good one. In almost every instance, our right handed relievers would’ve been better than our left-handed options this season. Can/will Rocco flex his approach?
  17. OF = Larnach, Buck, Wallner, and Keirsey to start. Emma and Martin (needs more time in OF) as AAA depth They’ve needed a RH power hitter since Cruz was traded but not sure we’ll have the $$ to sign. Could trade some prospects.
  18. I’m interested in Prielipp and Canterino in the bullpen mix.
  19. Didn’t hurt just 2024, this will hurt them in future attendance as well. Aaron and John mentioned attendance as a lagging indicator and I would agree. Seems like the FO had a payroll in mind when they extended Buck, signed Correa, extended Lopez and now the Pohlads drop the amount. Good article from Gregg M a couple days ago about the ripple effects of this “business”‘decision.
  20. López, Ryan, Ober, SWR, Festa to start 2025 in the rotation. Would be great if they could sign/trade for someone and have Festa start at AAA but those “business decisions” probably won’t allow for that. Zebby at AAA Paddack in the pen or traded I like the direction our starting pitching is heading.
  21. Good article Nick. This season has raised a lot of questions about the long-term outlook for a lot of our young guys. Kirilloff, Miranda, Julien, Lewis
  22. Feel a little better about Larnach and Wallner than the rest. We will need them all to make adjustments and figure it out if the Twins are going to be successful.
  23. Pretty clear that Joe isn’t the reason that the Pohlads are billionaires. Extremely shortsighted decision that cost them in 2024, 2025, and probably beyond.
  24. Padres ownership and FO talk about winning and then act like they mean it. Sports is entertainment. You give the fans something and they give it back. That something can be wins, moves, trades etc. Joe talks about his “business” so much you can tell it is about the $$$ for him. Spend money to make money, invest in your product! Give is a reason to show up and buy merchandise. p.s. please make it so I can watch games in IA!
