  1. I agree with this. If he were trying to "pitch" instead of throw then I might be worried about minor mechanics. But then again, if a HS kid needs to really "pitch" to be successful instead of just going out there and rocking and rolling, then he probably isn't much of a prospect yet. It's the raw talent and ability to throw the ball through the backstop that makes him a prospect. Our minor league system will teach him how to truly "pitch."
  2. If he hits .300 the rest of the way he probably would top .250, so.........Nah!
  3. Ok, 3:50 pm and I finally feel safe saying this: We are going to smack Bonderman around for a bunch of runs today. Count on it.
  4. Better than struggling against mediocre pitching...like most of yesterday...
  5. I hereby will never predict a good offensive performance ever again. I don't care if it's Jason Marquis facing us, I will never again jinx us in that way.
  6. Nothing wrong with manufacturing some runs.
  7. I hope I'm still going to Twins games at 95. Shirtless.
  8. Let's just be thankful that Dick and Bert can't have biological kids together.
  9. Didn't lay out for it, hit him in the glove...of course it's a hit.
  10. And down 1-0 with another HR allowed. Blech. EDIT: Down 2-0 with 2 HR allowed.
  11. Didn't realize Hammer has such good numbers against him as well. I did see Doumit treats him like a pitching machine.
  12. Scratch that, sounds like Morneau has the flu. Go Twins.
  13. If we have a better option like Rosario ready to contribute then by all means, move Dozier to utility or trade either of them for prospects. My only point is that it feels good to have those pieces in place right now, not dependent on another player developing.
  14. Hmm, if Gardy wanted to play Colabello I might have given Hammer the day off instead of Morney against a very hittable righty. Still, I think we'll tag Harang for 6+.
  15. As I've stated elsewhere, Floriman and Dozier could be excellent defensive pieces on a contending team that has Arcia, Sano, Hicks, Mauer, Buxton et al. carrying the offense. If both can hit north of .250 and keep up the level of defense we've seen the past month I would be overjoyed to have them man the middle when he win back to back to back world championships in 2015-2018.
  16. I was thinking yesterday that if Dozier picks up his bat a bit and Flori keeps playing as well as he has, they could be the prototypical "defensive middle infield" on our team in 2015-16 when Sano, Arcia, Hicks, Buxton, Mauer, et al. will more than carry the offense. Right now, of course, we need more offense out of those positions to pick up a lack of it elsewhere. But if we have 3-4 guys hitting 20-30 HRs and slugging north of .450 they would be valuable pieces.
  17. This one seems like a no brainer. BPA = Gray and Need = Gray. I'd fire off that pick without a second thought.
  18. I hope there's an intended pun there.
  19. I own that phrase. Cease and desist.
  20. I'm going to go ahead and give that a 7.2 on the "disturbing" scale.
  21. Meltdown might be a bit strong, but he did struggle a bit then, yes.
  22. Hmm, that's odd. When I was in high school "five play" meant something else entirely.
  23. I think we're all a little worried about that.
