    Why mess with Mauer more than need be? Sano is still going to get every chance to stick and 3rd and should for at least the first part of his pro career, so why make Mauer learn 3rd when he is coming and Plouffe is there as a stop gap. If you moved Mauer off 1st right now guess who would be starting there...... Plouffe, so why arbitrarily switch them. Deduno is there in the pen as possibly the 6th starter when someone falters or gets injured, but he profiles better as a reliever anyway.

    Great read these pieces are awesome. This reminds me of a Alan Watts line of thought. Any journey in life is like a piece of music, one doesn't listen to music for just the end note, the real enjoyment and artistry comes from the entire song and how each note interacts with all the others.

    I think its more about who would be hitting in front of him, I would much rather have two decent batters in front of him than Suzuki and Florimon.

    Now that he is fully in the organization and not under rule 5 guide lines are the Twins going to attempt to turn him back into a starter at AAA? He was pretty good in the pen last year but seems to have the stuff to start (decent heat and a nasty curve). I know it was talked about last year and bull pen spots are tough to come by at the moment considering how crowded it is down there.

    It would be nice to move Dozier back to SS, and go get Franklin to play 2nd but that isn't going to happen.

    The only person Mauer is really blocking anytime soon is maybe Vargas or Harrison in a year or two. First offers the least wear and tear, the smallest learning curve, and should allow him to not only stay healthy and on the field more but also let him focus his energy on hitting.

    Ya I think Deduno has the most potential to be a good reliever of the lot. His stuff could really play up in the pen if he can throw as hard as he wants, and not worry so much about his pitch counts. Normally guys with lack luster control but good stuff end up relievers. Diamond and Worley don't really have the out pitches to be more than junk inning or middle relievers.

    I assume the Anthony quote was from before today, I think Gibson put him self in the lead for the 5th spot. Deduno appears to be headed to the pen, Worley is toast, and Diamond has been mediocre.

    If it were up to me, Hicks Dozier Mauer Hammer Arcia Plouffe DH Suzuki P-Flo Bench Escobar Pressley Colabello Pinto Kubel Rotation Nolasco Hughes Correia Pelfry Gibson Pen Deduno Swarzak Duensing Tonkin Fien Burton Perkins (And I would be activley shopping Corriea, Duensing, and maybe Burton to open up spots)

    I have high hopes for Hughes. Yankee stadium was a terrible park for him to play in, and it can't have been easy to be a "failed" top prospect in that media circus. Lets see what he can do with reduced pressure and spacious confines behind him.

    Good to see Neshek is still hanging around with someone, he looks the best I have seen him in years not just throwing sliders. He is about my all time favorite twin that delivery is just so funky.
