  1. Haven't noticed a waggle myself but I haven't been looking for one, interesting observation. I do think his struggles are coming from trying to change his approach and pull more, can't just erase tendencies and muscle memory like nothing. He does need to find a way to change though because that Mauer shift is rather effective.
  2. My conspiracy theory is that his struggles are the result of him trying to adjust and failing. Mauer has always been a patient hitter that lets the ball get deep on him and then slashes it the other way, but I remember a couple quotes and some in game announcer chatter about him attempting to pull the ball a lot more and change his approach. It seems like he got himself way out of whack with that, add learning a new position on the fly, being absurdly unlucky on line drives going right at people, coming back from a concussion, dealing with new wear and tear, and dealing with the resurgence of the blame Mauer crowd and I think it has snowballed. His last 3 big hits have been classic Mauer, 2 doubles and a single slashed the other way so maybe he is going back to the old approach.
  3. I am hoping this call up is for a spot start, Pino starts Thursday and is moved to the pen afterwards then May starts Tuesday with Correia being pushed back a day. Probably hoping for too much though.
  4. That feeling of being the Royals is creeping up again =(
  5. Well ****, its going to take at least 2 innings for Parms to come up again, can the pen hold it?
  6. PARMS, I keep trying to give up on you and you keep making me hang on a little longer.
  7. Gibby carving people up
  8. Facing Lester certainly isn't helping, but then again Parms was really the only other option.
  9. Escobar looking great at 3rd.
  10. Wow that was unexpected. Hell of a catch by their CF to save Gomes.
  11. The stage is now set for a drag bunt, great acting from Arcia and Nunez.
  12. Their broadcast is where I found that Correia factoid, but I knew the famous one already.
  13. I had no idea Corriea graduated from Cal Poly, I live about 5 mins from the campus and even worked there for a short time. Can't say it makes me like him any more unfortunately.
  14. Idk whats ole Vance up to these days?
  15. I really like this pick big nasty durable flame thrower that shouldn't have much to absorb in the minors. I've read about this training program he is apparently on, and it seems like a positive thing especially since 100 mph arms can be risky. Lots of work on throwing different weights of balls and throwing without releasing to build strength in the entire delivery.
  16. Cut Guerrier, move Corriea to the pen, put May in the rotation. If May doesn't pan out or there is an injury there is still Meyer, Darnell, Johnson, Pino, Diamond, and Corriea to take the spot.
  17. ESPN has become just as ridiculous as Fox news, CNN, MSNBC, ect. Lets have a couple people we call experts argue and yell at each other about a buzz topic and watch the ratings pour in as viewers get mad at one and behind the other. Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith are the pinnacle of this and for me its just unwatchable. I canceled my cable and I do not miss it in the slightest, I never realized how much it was just background noise to have on. As with pretty much everything now the internet is the way to go, much better media of any type with much less restriction (until that gets ruined by the net neutrality crap).
  18. I don't mean to wish big Pelf ill, but that's pretty good news in my book, if there is a spot to be had in the rotation May, Meyer, or Darnell should be the ones filling it.
  19. They are like the opposite of the Timberwolves who were the phythag kings last year yet couldn't actually win a close game.
  20. Wow it has finally happened, Ben Revere hit a home run over the wall and everything!
  21. It might have already been posted but there is another great Dozier article on there as well. The saber community is loving a Twin, I don't think that has happened before. http://www.fangraphs.com/community/all-your-bases-are-belong-to-brian-dozier/
  22. I feel his parents did a poor job naming him though. Hunter Quackenbush, Ducky Quackenbush, Digger Quackenbush, George Quackenbush, so much opportunity.
