  1. Seems that way, having to adjust to pitchers not trying to get him to chase crap anymore since he has upped the OBP.
  2. And there ya go, ethnics use marijuana, we should probably deport Rosario asap there are white women he could be corrupting.
  3. Exactly this. I am in a field that doesn't test unless it is a massive corporate employer, so I have only ever had one job that tried to test me and I declined at that point. I wonder what the companies in the states that have legalized are doing, I have watched here in California with medicinal legalization as the tests have been declining save for the country wide large employers.
  4. "until the day comes that MLB could definitively prove that MJ is a dangerous PED (highly unlikely)." Wait what base was I supposed to throw it to again ... ah **** thats right I'm batting.
  5. I think you should smoke a joint and calm down a little.
  6. No one tests for alcohol, and pot is much less harmful a substance. You already give a massive amount of time and energy to your employer, they have no right to tell you what you can or cannot ingest on your free time.
  7. If his changeup has really taken that big a step forward with the change in grips, I would like to see him get a few more AAA starts to work on that. A nasty change opposed to an average one would make him an even better pitcher (3 + pitches coming with from the sky with his velocity and build puts him in the possible ace category). It seems like he would have a better chance to hone that pitch (that he has thrown for 2 starts now) in the minors, to be called up in a month or so when he has fully forced the issue. If they want more immediate help Deduno is there, Johnson in pitching well, Darnell is pitching well, Pino is pitching well. Its a shame May hasn't preformed because he probably would have had the first shot.
  8. That one is gone in Yankee stadium, welcome home Phil.
  9. It will be interesting to see how other teams start to pitch them after the Rays series. Price really gave them trouble by constantly throwing strikes and not giving them much to take, though they did adjust some and hit the 2 mistakes he made en route to him throwing a complete game. He is an elite example of a strike thrower, and there are few of those, but that looks to be the kryptonite to a patient lineup. Odorizzi, or however its spelt, tried and was successful at the same thing the next game until he started hanging change ups.
  10. I think Hicks should have a very long leash, this is his year to prove his value. Fuld being around is nice depth and a good fit so they can platoon them a bit and give Hicks a break against some tougher pitchers to get him going. I think the patience is a good sign, considering who is batting behind him most of the time pitchers are really going for the strikeout against Hicks and he is working counts and getting walks. He just needs to hit the mistakes like he did today with that laser homerun, batting lefty even.
  11. Gardy was trying to be crafty, Tonkin probably should have stayed in with a switch hitter then another righty due up.
  12. Wheres the slow mo camera view of the ball to the nads?
  13. Well that was ugly but at least it only ended up being 3 and a bunch of pitches.
  14. Ump looks like he calls the low strike.
  15. It may take some time but I think Hicks will be a good mlb player. In the minors he took awhile to adjust to a new league and then they pushed the issue and promoted him from AA. When he adjusts he has been a patient hitter with some pop, an ok on base threat, and a good to decent defender that can make up for minor mistakes with speed and a absolute cannon arm. Last year we saw some of the pop but no patience, this year so far we are seeing the patience but no pop. I think those 2 collide at some point, his swing looks out of whack at the moment and he isn't generating good contact but he is working counts. When he is able to work counts and square up the ball I think Hicks will be a solid player. He should provide a nice value as a corner outfield or trade piece.
  16. As with anything this time of year limited sample size alert, but our old friend Justin Morneau is putting up some nice numbers in Colorado. His slash is .346/.386/.538, he isn't hitting for huge power with only 2 home runs but I think everyone understands his big power days are probably behind him. He is still playing excellent defense at first and is being used well with limited at bats vs lefties. I will always be a Morneau fan and its really nice to see him get back on track, if there is one other team I am routing for this year it is Rox because of Morneau and Cuddles. http://www.purplerow.com/2014/4/18/5626842/justin-morneau-has-been-pretty-dang-good-so-far
  17. The walks and patience is driving this offense and I didn't really see that coming. Plouffe, Colabello, Kubel, Pinto and Hicks are all showing good discipline and working counts. Mauer has been elite at working counts for a long time and is doing it again, Suzuki and Dozier are also continuing their trends of being a tough out. Arcia and Florimon are the only opportunities for a quick out and Arcia is still a dangerous out. This lineup can make some things happen with men on base... and get on base... No more abyss. No more Bernier, Clete, Florimon level section of outs.
  18. I was pretty bummed I had to work all day and miss both games, I got home in time just for the start of the 8th inning and I do not feel cheated haha.
  19. Why is Florimon batting?!?!?!?!
  20. Well that reality came crashing down quickly
  21. Calling a bit of a low zone, but very consistent which is always nice to see.
