  1. I was young at the time but someone jog my memory, Ortiz was pretty bad when he was here wasn't he? And didn't he refuse to follow the TK other way plan? I want to just think it was bad luck he worked out I mean Matt Lecroy and Brian Buchanon didn't go on to be Big Papi's.
  2. OK just keep pitching to him, see what happens.
  3. Piranha ball working, cmon Mauer be the big fish.
  4. Why do they keep pitching to him?
  5. Intentional walks have their place, and the unintentional intentional walk where you just throw junk to good hitters and hope they swing does even moreso. Certainly could have put Ortiz on a couple times yesterday...
  6. Does Suzuki make vaccum cleaners as well as cars?
  7. Bartlett, Santana, Nunez, Escobar, Colabello weren't outfielders, there is still a chance.
  8. That is certainly one way to set the mood. If you get creative it doesn't even have to be true for 1 or 2 dates anyway.
  9. The tats are a deal breaker for me, I am much more of a Pantera fan.
  10. Another rough-ish one for Tonkin, its time for him to go get some seasoning, maybe we won't even replace him with another pitcher.
  11. The perfect first date, a stroll down Venice beach followed by some sloppy ribs and the Transporter.
  12. Sox broadcast going all little league world series, so I now know Xander Boagerts likes ribs and Jason Statham.
  13. Cmon Kubes good time to snap out of it.
  14. Suzuki is so damn good back there. The last couple starts Nolasco has thrown him at least 30 pitches in the dirt and I think that one with Ortiz on base was the farthest any have gotten away.
  15. The Eduardo section of the lineup really got Peavy mad.
  16. Anyone keeping a tally of the runs infielders in the outfield have cost so far?
  17. Rasmus from Toronto was being shopped wasn't he? Wonder what that would cost.
  18. So about that Deduno to the rotation thing......
  19. Dozier has solidified himself as a really good piece for this team. After growing up a shortstop and transitioning his defense at 2nd is excellent and seems to be getting better. After some struggles initially at the mlb level, he really bought into and implemented Bruno's power/patience approach and has flourished at it better than anyone else on the roster. Even his base running is at an all time high aggressivly taking extra bases and stealing with a high sucess rate. It will be interesting to see where he ends up hitting in the long run, the power seems a bit wasted at the top of the order but the patient approach, obp, and his running game all play well lead off. I also wonder if the power isn't boosted a lot by the leadoff spot because pitchers have to pitch to him, lower in the order and 2-5 isn't coming up behind him. He isn't really an ideal 2 hitter because he does strikeout and doesn't have great bat control to consistently move runners over or hit and run. He isn't really a high enough average threat or rbi guy to be 3-5. His obp is kinda wasted 6-9. So I think lead off really is the ideal spot but I could see him ending up at 2 or 6 eventually as well.
  20. Will we get a Darnell sighting now?
  21. Fuld is so damn good out there. I know he won't keep hitting like this but I really like that addition.
